And then of course to learn to be an SC2 pro-gamer on the side, because why the hell not, amiright? Bear in mind, I never actually planned to make a living off of it, but I genuinely wanted to learn how to function at a professional level of play. When I do something, I prefer to put my full effort into it. Somehow its more stressful for me to half-ass something than it is to truly get it done.
Well as usual life doesn't go as planned. I was hoping my career would allow me to travel in the future. and a good opportunity came up to get me some killer experience. It would give me so many options 5 years from now, so I took it. And the job is great for the experience, good pay, actual responsibility but really long hours. So much for video games.
The long hours I don't mind because unfortunately I live in just about as middle of nowhere as it gets in Canada without hitting igloo territory. The town barely has 56k dialup access, so the streaming of just about anything is out of the question. I have my hesitations on whether or not its capable of uploading this blog, so its a good thing I'm visiting a friend in the city (about a 3 hour drive away). Starcraft doesnt consume that much bandwidth, but goddamn is it unbearable to play at any time other than 3 AM. The campaign gets pretty boring after the 4th time.
Maybe I need to be more of an outdoorsy person. Everyone I know has a quad or goes camping a lot. Well its snowboarding or the like right now. After a few months here its easy to figure out why. Its either that or hit the sauce pretty hard to keep yourself going. Telus has promised a fibre-optic line within the next couple months. Maybe I'll hit the gym or something in the meantime.
-Sigh- I was super excited to use my report button too. And I just got an invite to the D3 beta. Its a good thing I actually enjoy my job or I'd be on reddit raging right now.
