My inspiration was my friend who bought a TW account (I have no credit card QQ) and then he comes back to NA ladder and smokes it 86-17 or something like that. I was having massive troubles with TvP for the past few months so I asked him for a build order/strategy to follow. So I proceeded to watch the replay, study what goes when and why things go when/where they do. At the end of my 10 minute replay watching session I came up with a general build order to follow.
I got the gist of the strategy and joined the playhem daily. I get a zerg first round, smash him ezpz, then I get Inori.
Now of course I use my new build order to try and beat him, but everything was late. Timings weren't crisp, I didn't scout things thoroughly, and my timing attack was late, and null.
So I go back, and watch the 2 replays I now have. And I notice the simple mechanical skill between me and my friend, me and Inori. My friend got everything to align perfectly, and was at the protoss base by 10:30, I was sloppy and my attack started moving across the map at 11:00. The end score also surprised me, as me and my opponent did not touch each other and his score was 29k, to my 24k at which point i simply lost the battle and didn't really know how to proceed and i left.
I wanted to play like my friend, so I sat down playing Agria Valley over and over versus no-one working on the build order. Understanding the timings better, spending THE ENTIRE GAME moving my scv or reaper into areas of the map to replicate scouting (this made me miss a lot of timings, it was frustrating) and eventually I did it. After 1 hour I got it perfect, 10:30 at the enemy base. Then in the next hour I only got it right 2 more times. So in total, 2 hours of intensive build order/mechanics I get the build right a total of 3 times.
Now you might say, wow, in 2 hours you only did it 3 times? I actually like to think of it as a success. I think I am teaching myself to be proactive with my keyboard while scouting, and I'm much more aware of what is going on in the game as a result of it.

Man, I went on the ladder and I went 6-3, losing once to protoss. Then i got 3 more protoss, lost them all, and all the other games I was on tilt so I lost them too.
6-10 today.
Whats happening now, Is I'll get my build order down, and hit the timing where he has a very small army and no tech finished, then I'll choke on my micro and lose the game.
Its an unfortunate turn of events as I am a huge fan of this build, is there any advice on accelerated learning micro? Because in all matchups 90% of my losses are due to bad micromanagement. Most of the time I have better macro but I choke really hard on micro, I don't know a good way to learn this efficiently, because in a 10 minute game there is 1 minute of micro :S.

Now, at the end of this meandering and basically pointless blog. I'll ask with a quick question:
Amidoingitright?
