If you cant defend against cheese, it just means you don't understand that aspect of the game. There are many ways to prevent your self from being cheesed. Overlord placements are (at least for me) placed to prevent timings. If macro is your strength making a spine crawler more or a queen more is a big help (it might set u back slightly but not too hard to catch back up).

If anyone thinks SC1 is any less cheese friendly, you are dead wrong. I used to get constantly cheesed by protoss and 3 raxed by terrans.

I never thought of econ cheese lol, oddly enough that makes sense to me

My man, the control and timing that you learn when getting repeatedly cheesed is what allows you to become pro.

Play in some playhem or z33k tournaments, and get a practice partner.

Try to not care so much about your rank. One of my friends is like this--he doesn't play on ladder because he doesn't want to lose points.

In the end it doesn't matter if you lose. Ain't nobody gonna judge you for it (and if they are, then fuck them).

You could try to tank your ladder rank, so that you won't care about it. IMO, the best thing to do is to cheese back. It's a break from macro, and it allows you to take out your frustration by using the god-awful, shittiest builds known to mankind.

It shifts, when you get higher league, and you meet the cheeses you are meeting now, you just go like this ÔÔ... And then stop it, then wonder if you're being trolled.

A cheese is easier to execute than stop in most cases.

And if its "this awful" for you now, just pat yourself on the shoulder for having the guts "to try" and stop, because it won't get easier, it'll get harder and harder. I felt as if the game doesn't start until you're high Masters atleast.

So yeah!!

Cheese happens at all levels of the game. The only thing that happens when you get to the pro level is that people are a lot better at it.

And this applies to both SC2 and BW.

Cheese is a fundamental skill players should immediately manage and not save for later on. Cheese easily separates players that know basics (scouting) and strategy (build order). What you're lacking might be one of the two, try improving upon them. Don't always go for that 15 hatch you keep telling yourself. Start with a speedling expand, put some pressure, scout, be active with lings and sac ovies at pivotal timing windows. The latter will probably give you that extra kick in the right direction to get you to masters.

I actually rather enjoy sc2 cheese because I played both sc bw and wc3 and was pretty happy with where I was. So in most cases I can out micro and multitask at the same time and beat an all-in. I obviously still lose but I blame myself when I do and not because of what my opponent did.

Obviously I'm one of the few with this mind set though work on scouting! see it coming! CRUSH IT! feels really good lol

There's little I like more in a game of StarCraft than getting cheesed, scouting it, knowing exactly how to defend and then pulling it off to clinch a victory. That feeling of "all I gotta do is this, that and that, while keeping an eye on that and I'm good!" then 5 minutes later, the opponent types gg.

Actually, I like other things more, but that one is ok too =)

Go with whatever feels like the default to your style. Then do your best, and be open to change if you see the need for it.

Get some coaching, dude.

Sounds like your real problem is a serious lack of perspective. There are a lot of guys out there who can help you put things in order, and, honestly, working with a coach for a few hours at your current level is probably the quickest, and best way to make the next step up.

Seriously if you're bored of sc2 try BW for a couple months, you might like it a lot more.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. 3 rax (sparks terran) really shouldn't work. Idk what toss cheese you are thinking of.

Nice thing about BW is if you have good micro you can stomp a lot of cheesers just off sheer unit control ability.
Why would I play sctoo when I can play BW?

I've been enjoying terran for numerous reasons, being able to pressure easily, MULES , and I feel terran can force a macro game onto their opponent since theyre so good at defense

If you don't like the game, you shouldn't play it. I think there are enough people out there playing to win but are not enjoying the process of improvement or competing. You could try playing against friends instead of laddering. That may bring some joy back to the game. And forming practice partner relationships may get you an opportunity to play with cheese not being such a predominant playstyle. Winning and losing against people you know is also a lot more interesting than doing so against strangers.

Just keep in mind that you picked the punching bag race. Zerg has to play more adaptively than the other races to fully exploit its ability to shift fast between droning, massing army and teching. This can lead to it being the most boring race because in the early part of the game, the opponent will often be the active player and all you're doing is playing defense.
