In BW zerg plays rather differently in terms of philosophy and psychs...
For ZvT, zerg rely on sneaky units such as lurker and defiler to stay alive, only commiting to swarm style when terran goes mech. For ZvP it is the opposite, swarms of hydras with mutas to negate storms.
However it seems different for SC2... for Terran I can make an obscene amount of units and with good flank, terran cannot medigate the damage and it is great to play sauron style zerg.
For protoss, force field ruins your day every single time you tried to flank. Especially with roaches, you cannot expect to flank his army at all simply because FF will always be a factor. Now what is a swarm style zerg suppose to do when he cannot flank?
Here are 2 replays, if you can watch and shed some words of wisdom that'll be great!!
ZvT: http://drop.sc/41822 //look how cool it is to flank!!
ZvP: http://drop.sc/41818 //what the fuck yo...
atm ZvP is my weakest match up. I can always brutalize terran but protoss is sneaky with their FF so I can't do that ;(

lol ZvP in sc2 feels like PvT in bw. With Z in sc2 playing like P in bw. =S
For Z, it's 'stop the P from massing too many units'.
Pressure with your roaches when he FFE (when possible) like how the dragoon pressure before tanks are out, except, you're pressuring until P stabilizes with stalkers + sentries. You can also bulldog your way in ala Roach/Ling all -in. I just feel like there's a lot of similarity. Could be just me though. lol

Bad, Bad, Bad. If he FFE, it's a lot like broodwar zvp. You can drone like hell for a while because he won't be able to do pressure. Instead of putting overlord over his buildings, make a overseer and scout.

I don't know, I don't like P being able to skimp on cannons to get their gates up earlier. I mean, every cannon they throw up, could've been a gateway. Especially with the more frequent +1attk 5 zealots attack that Kiwi been doing after FFE. Droning up with a 3rd with only 2 lings feels icky, especially with how many rocks there are on blizz's ladder map T_T.
The only map where I don't really pressure, would be Shakuras, that ramp... lol

If you make roaches, you have no drones.

can you watch the ZvP replay? That's exactly what I did, I pressured him a lot and tried to trade as well... ;(

Hey I took a look at your ZvP game. I made some notes as I watched it.
Extractor canceling with early scout is not effective, causing you to miss the chronos on gateway signaling zealot pressure. If your drone was simply on patrol inside of the base it would not be touched until a stalker was out, and you could get all the information you needed. You overreacted to 3 zealots by making too many lings, but by fighting in a bad spot you needed them. If zealots are holding in the mineral line you can kill them with queen range. Nice harass at 8 minutes with lings at the natural although I believe you didnt need the extra ling reinforcements. Attacking into army at 8:30 was a waste costing many larva to replace your army. 9:30 nexus snipe was nice but cost your own expansion due to your lack of scouting, from no xelnaga control in this case. If you control xelnagas you could plan to harass his natural mineral line with a smaller ling force while defending and not droning before his attack.
Use overlords and xelnagas to scout. Youre using an early to mid game composition for too long. Become less reliant on ling roach when it gets into the mid game and mix in some infestors, broodlords, ultralisks, or hydras. Work on faster unit upgrades. There are lots of small build order and macro mistakes that could be optimized. For example when to take your gas, when you make attacking units, and not spending tons of minerals on overlords before you need them. Also use infested terrans with your infestors in fights, they are great vs toss.
Counter attacks were good which is very crucial in zvp. You just need to optimize your macro a bit and move into a mid/late game army composition smoother. If you're going to continue with ling use you really need upgrade them. Then you can add infestors, they are great with lings because of infested marines mid game. After them you can move towards ultralisks and you will have the necessary upgrades and solve forcefield issues while bringing late game domination.
Add me ONEMedzo.870 if you have questions or want to play (im good pvz and tvz). I haven't been active but I am starting to play a bit again. Any games are good for me so I can work on my mechanics.
