Let me start with the second mentioned game, because I got its screenshots first.
Warning: Spoilers have a fuckton of pictures.
Here, our hero spawns as the red zerg at 5 o'clock main of Fighting Spirit and the enemy spawns as blue zerg at 11 o'clock main.
+ Show Spoiler +
While the enemy zerg decides to take the standard clockwise scouting pattern, I decide to take not-so-standard counter clockwise pattern and decide to go supergosu on my opponent and send my overlord to cross position if I don't meet any overlord after 75% of the way or something like that (which means I can meet his second overlord if he is at 1 o'clock and took the same pattern as me).
+ Show Spoiler +
Despite I went for 12 hatch, our ling timings were uncharacteristically similar for that early pool from him (he went for some variation of great build).
+ Show Spoiler +
But, I scout him and see what he's up to (Yes, evo is actually in the vision of overlord, overlord sees it after going a few more pixels, but I see that a bit later when I look at his base).
+ Show Spoiler +
3 hatch +1 attack/carapace ling allin. Generally I see/do +1 attack version but some people may opt for carapace as well. Even worse, by the time I scouted him, he was already at my door.
+ Show Spoiler +
Because I have him in vision, I decide to taunt his lings and kill some if I can.
+ Show Spoiler +
Taunting his lings work well, i get 2 free lings, which may get significant in case of facing a ling allin. Then, he makes the worst fucking decision he can ever make. He saw my ling count, he could easily understand that I 12 hatch'd, he knows the timings of his 2nd and 3rd hatcheries, he knows his ling count as well, yet he still decides to go for it at the only time that his ling count would be inferior to mine. With this control, it was easy to tell who was ahead after the first big battle:
+ Show Spoiler +
After the first engagement, I had 24 lings to his 18. It could not go worse for him. But he decided to attack into me yet again, in the worst fucking position, yet again. He attacked right there and then. With some sloppy control from me, I still was able to come out on top with 11 lings against his 0. And my mutas would come out right after that.
+ Show Spoiler +
There, he was preparing a second wave while my first 4 mutalisks were busy killing an overlord.
+ Show Spoiler +
His second wave attacked into me, got deflected easily, and I showed some gosu reactions there:
+ Show Spoiler +
Women and children first !!!!!
He did one more last ditch attack, failed that one too and left without a gg.
+ Show Spoiler +
These guys have stories for their grandchildren
Anyway, thanks for the game mSj[Gad].
Before starting the second game, I'd like to point out the fact that the game is so fucking funny and me and my main man exeexe laughed at this game for half an hour after it finished, watching the replay twice in the process. I thought that he would already do a battle report for this, but then I realized that he got banned T_T.
And here we go:
Our hero zerg Hasheem spawns at 2 o'clock position of Python, and enemy protoss exeexe spawns at 12 o'clock position.
+ Show Spoiler +
The rest will come a little bit later, because of imgur's upload limit, but I'm so going to share this battle report. This is so fucking funny that you have to see. And you will see. Don't worry. See ya after the rest of that 1 hour, when I can upload more pictures.
EDIT: 2nd battle report is up now!!!
This time, I choose the pattern that JMave tells in this thread and exeexe chooses a really weird scouting pattern that requires him to go cross positions twice. He went for 6 o'clock first, then 9 o'clock, then 3 o'clock to find me. That probe was so fucking tired when it came to my base.
+ Show Spoiler +
I opted for 12 hatch 11 pool 13 hatch 12 gas, exeexe opted for forge first into cannon-gateway-nexus. It was weird too.
+ Show Spoiler +
By the time my second overlord realized that he was indeed at 12 o'clock, my drone changed his direction to 6 o'clock to become my 3rd hatchery,
+ Show Spoiler +
which has finished at the same time as his nexus.
+ Show Spoiler +
I then sent my lings to his natural. One of my lings instadied to his only cannon.
+ Show Spoiler +
I never had a ling that took only one shot from a cannon
I then scouted his +1. Later, between being a normal person and sending my second overlord to his main to scout a stargate and being a noob shit and just acting like exeexe is playing sairless +1 zealot timing, I chose the latter. As he had the stargate too.
+ Show Spoiler +
Thinking that it's a sairless zealot timing, I opted for lurker first. While I was doing my lurker tech, some of my drones went down to watch the lake view while a corsair was flying over their head.
+ Show Spoiler +
As exeexe was going out for the first push, I put down 2 sunkens at each base.
+ Show Spoiler +
I easily crushed his first push, while he, this time with more zealots, tried to attack to my natural.
+ Show Spoiler +
I didn't have any screenshots from that but it did nothing. After that, we proceeded to take an expansion each, which was not noticed by the other player (he never noticed my 4th and I never noticed his 3rd, I was too busy macroing).
+ Show Spoiler +
this made me go like "holy shit my macro is progamer level", which is not
Gifting first 2 armies to me wasn't enough for exeexe as he had
+ Show Spoiler +
Only a zealot and a templar survived that lurker field. Chewing exeexe's army chunk by chunk, I decided that he probably has nothing and was going to attack his natural. At the same time, exeexe was too busy storm dropping me. Or was I the busy one as all my drones but 3 died to storms.
+ Show Spoiler +
I got ready, set,
+ Show Spoiler +
AND GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
+ Show Spoiler +
While killing his nexus, I moved up his ramp with lurkers while he was making DT only.
+ Show Spoiler +
With his corsairs, he was killing my overlords and with his DTs, he was killing my army.
+ Show Spoiler +
I did a last ditch with my reinforcements, but it was not enough.
+ Show Spoiler +
With this game, I'm like... 0-5 or 0-6 against exeexe if not worse.
Lessons learned today from game 1:
1- In a 3 hatch ling allin ZvZ, never attack with inferior ling count. That's what opponent wants the most.
2- That is such a late +1 timing. +1 should kick in at the same time as spire, not 1.5 minutes later.
3- In 3 hatch +1 ling allin, you should ONLY attack when +1 kicks in, that's when you have superior ling count and upgrade advantage.
4- Never attack into defender with less number of lings unless you have upgrade advantage.
5- Ling control is important.
Lessons learned today from game 2:
1- Use an overlord to scout protoss main and don't leave until you see a stargate.
2- Produce more scourges than 4 and be active with them on all over the map.
3- Get a 5th base much earlier if you kill that many units.
4- Lurker first kicks ass.
5- Use more overlords to scout shuttle play and check minimap more often.
6- Scout for protoss 3rd bases.
7- Half a control group of lings or hydras can stop 3rd bases ice cold if opponent lacks an army.
8- In order not to lose to DTs, you have to handle corsairs better.
9- Learn to seize your situation better (thanks unit).
