I was deciding I was gonna use my 2v2 3v3 4v4 and FFA to practice zerg since it's the race I'm most interested in. My conclusion...
ITS REALLY FUN.
I come from terran background. I am a plat terran and I'm seriously considering full-time switching once I figure out some builds.
The hard part is knowing what frickin units to make. Do I drone hard or do I make unis? ahhh...but it's honestly really fun.
I like queens and how to use them, I just have no idea how to build them. I've been 15 hatch 15 pooling in 2v2s to get ready for 1v1.
Yeah I know nobody probably cares, but I wanted to share how much fun I've been having with Zerg :D

Are there any must read guides? I already watch the pros that are helpful, destiny, sheth, and the like.

Zerg is all in reacting to your opponent and doing what you think you can get away with based on what they are doing, there aren't many blind builds you can do with mcuh effect

Diamond Z here, switched from T when I was in Gold league. Advice I can share: Get really damn good at injects and have a nice, custom hotkey setup to accomplish this quickly. Learn to read your opponents build and know when they can and cannot attack. Personally I just did 14/14 speedling every game until half way through platinum while I was still learning, it's safe with decent economy. Be warned, making units instead of drones early game will completely screw up your economy in the mid game. If you MUST make units early, make as few as will keep you alive. If you have a game where you make 50 drones and then they just kill you because you have no units, you're doing it right. Make 40 drones when you scout that next time and then make units, you will smash that same attack. Learning Zerg is simply learning the ins and outs of their economy management and reacting to your opponent by balancing drone production and unit composition.

If you switch to Z, get ready to start hating the race you started off with :D. But seriously, gl man.
Also, my advice: team play zerg and 1v1 zerg ARE DIFFERENT!!! Therefore, what you're enjoying now, may not be the same kind of enjoyment in regular 1v1s. Be aware of that

I love zerg in 1v1 because you can play with the simple goal of not losing. My game plan in all matchups revolves around not dying to whatever they can do, along with putting on pressure and doing some economic damage when I can. Find a nice safe build order for each match up, then practice by doing those builds over and over, slightly changing your timings whenever you lose to something so that you can not die to it next time. Look for places where you can put in some aggression. Always focus on macro as #1 but be aware that to get good you'll need to work on micro and map awareness as well.
Good luck!

well the first thing you have to learn is proper macro. While BO's means alot as terran, it doesn't have a huge effect on zerg. The most important things you need to focus on, if you want to get better, is to basically have perfect injects, and scout your opponent constantly. T and Z are very different, you might get surprised just how much more mechanically demanding zerg is.
p.s. Terran always wins because of BO's and timing pushes, they do not know how to macro (play lategame) if you want to win, just go safe to the lategame, and you have much bigger chance of winning.
