Hm, so I'm going to be in Korea for a month, and I REEEAAALLY want to see Girl's Generation in person. Anyone know of good ways to do that?

I heard eyes are pretty useful.

/troll
Here's a schedule, maybe that can be useful?

I've tried drinking until they appear in front of me, but so far it's not working.

Would be helpful if you told us when you're going to be in Korea. Unfortunately for you SNSD will be promoting in Japan more than in Korea as they are coming out with a new Japanese album. Their next new Korean album won't be until the fall.

get a ticket when they perform in korea or go to music core, inkigayo, music bank if they perform for some special occasion but since its summer, they will be in japan. sorry to break it for you.

@ red4ce I'm gonna be there during the entirety of June. Don't they do small performances here and there in Korea occasionally though? I'm not looking for official big concerts or anything, just a chance to see them ;p
@iSeeNubs Lol great idea
@Dalguno, according to that schedule, there seems to be nothign scheduled in June

damn it.. Maybe i'll actually fly to japan to see them.. is it easier to see them in japan than in korea? Even if i did go to japan to see them, the question still remains, how am i going to find them ;p?

Also, off topic quesiton but, is it safe to go to japan right now (considering the radiation etc)?

The small performances usually coincide with the release of new songs, which as I said before won't happen until the fall. Kpop groups occasionally hold small mini-concerts or showcases, but that's usually for less popular or new groups trying to get more exposure. SNSD may already be too popular for that kind of stuff. They also get hired to perform for special events like university graduations, opening day in baseball, etc, but finding an official schedule for that could be difficult. Of course you could fork over the $30k+ and hire them yourself lol /trollface. There's also the occasional fanmeets and signing events but I don't see any scheduled for June and those are pretty hard to get into anyways.

Here's their schedule of events according to their fansite

http://soshified.com/forums/index.php?app=calendar&module=calendar&cal_id=1&m=6&y=2011

As you can see they'll be touring in Japan and Paris for the first half of June. Nothing scheduled for the second half so maybe you'll get lucky.

edit: If Japan is safe enough for Korea's national dolls, then it should be safe enough for you. Unfortunately I'd wager a hefty sum of money that their Japan concerts are all sold out so unless you're gonna pay huge $$$$ for scalped tickets I'm afraid you're probably out of luck.

I think you'll have to wait till your next trip to see Soshi.

Until then, I guess you'll have to go to some BW/SC2 games and make TL shoutout cheerfuls. ^^

I wouldn't bother with trying to go the music shows. My friend tried twice during her time in Seoul, and she said the organization is largely left up to the fans. (Who are often complete psychos/hardcore at the higher levels in fancafes.) They were demanding that fans who wanted to get in came with copies of the latest single, certain items of merchandise, and even specific messages downloaded onto their cellphones from the fancafes. Both times she had to leave ridiculously early to go queue up, and both times she failed to get allowed in due to these crazy methods.

Fan signings have also become way harder to get into - most of the ones endorsed by Korean beauty companies (and other companies the idols are models for) require purchases for you to enter a lottery to get a chance to go to the signing. The same goes for music store based ones like Synnara and Hot Tracks - you have to buy the cd to get a chance to enter the lottery to go to the signing. Information is usually posted only a couple of days before the signing and nothing will be in English.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on their schedule, and see if they're doing any ticketed events which can be purchased through Interpark. Gmarket is a no-go unless you have a Korean bank card (I'm not sure if it accepts overseas methods of payment. So you might want to check.) For buying interpark tickets just go to Youngpoong Bookstore in Jonggak Station (it's actually inside the station itself.) go to the furthest counter from the door and ask for tickets (Romanized - Concert pyo iseoyo?) You can only buy the tickets until 7pm at the store itself.

I've seen them several times now, but once a group gets to their level of popularity it's actually harder to see them since the competition for tickets to anything increases.

Tickets should be sold out by now for Japan, Music shows would be your only bet(Although I suppose NeverGG can be right). Music shows for Japan I don't know, perhaps music station in Japan but I doubt it. SNSD is now at a popularity level that they don't bother with college graduations etc unless its a favor(For a friend or relative), if you go to a college graduation you have a chance of ''bumping'' into Gcupz though, which could be cool.
You'd need to hang around SNSD fancafes to get the info for such events , so unless you know korean it could be kind of hard, Korean music shows like MuCore/Bank/Inikagayo etc aren't going to have them over till they comeback.

In ~September, and even then it will be fucking hard cause sones are the craziest batshit type of fans there are basically(Perks you get with being the most popular girl group), and I wouldn't be suprised if SM pulls stuns like what NeverGG says.

Simply put, not going to happen. Just go cheer for Jaedong when he beats up Flash, (which will happen, don't worry)

Speaking of which, there are alot of other girl groups which you could see ''easily'' on the music shows(Although it might be hard to get in, I heard Inikagayo is oke to get in), I think After School will still be promoting Shampoo by the time you are there. Korean music show schedules shouldn't be hard to find on the interwebs with decent googling skills.

That sounds quite "mafiaesque" for a bunch of fans.

the tickets i see on yahoo auctions for SNSD in japan are cellphone based. i'm not really sure how it works but it seems like you need a japanese cell phone.

i see concert dates on 6/4 and 6/5 for saitama super arena and 6/17 in yoyogi, which are both near tokyo. there's also one in 5/31 if you want to go osaka.

iirc there are shops that sell concert tickets... i remember seeing quite a few in akihabara when my friend was trying to get perfume tickets, all we did was walk around down the main streets to find them.

Your best chance. Be prepared though, tickets sell out fast after they are released. The SMTown in France was sold out in 10 minutes.
