Hello my fellow liquidians!
As this is my first Blog entry, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself a little bit. I am 20 years old and live in central europe. I currently find myself with a decent amount of spare time and (this is the important part!) money in my hands that I am free to spend on entertainment. I want to take this opportunity to pick up a new computer game(has to be computer I don't have any consoles), but I have no idea what or which one it should be. Therefore I'd like to ask you, dear reader, for a suggestion for a game I could buy.
Here's a little Info on how I like my games. It has to have a good singleplayer (Multiplayer not required but welcome), and there cant be DLC or any other form of payment after the first purchase of the game. Well actually I'm fine with DLC, as long as it is not required to get a decent amount of entertainment out of the game. For example the DLC for DragonAge I've never laid my eyes on, but the purchase was worth it anyways, because it was a good game. On the other hand a game that has a 5 hour singeplayer that obviously is just there to hook you in and make you pay another 30 bucks for DLC does not only make me want to kill my self, the publisher/developers shall also not receive any money from me for that kind of fraud.
I REALLY enjoyed playing Knights of the Old Republic, DragonAge:Origins or Mass Effect. Im also a huge Gothic (1, 2) fanboy. Those are easily my top 5 singleplayer games of all time. I also liked Crysis, Blood Bowl and Assassins Creed. I played (and loved) a ton of star wars games (fighter flying as well as rpgs and even StarWars:Rebellion) I also like sports game like the EA NHL/NBA/Rugby games, but I generally prefer to rent those, as they simply are not challenging enough for single play after some time. My multiplayer needs are quite filled with Starcraft and EvE at the moment.
The genre of the game is not as important as the fact that it should be a "good game", you know? Something with replaying value (like the aforementioned Dragon age or Mass effect), also please don't suggest shitty pc ports of console games (Force Unleashed and Dark Siders come to mind), because these also make me want to kill myself. The game does not in any regard have to be new, I'd love to play your favourite classic aswell!
In short I'm looking for a singleplayer game to play, I like RPGs and most other genres, please help me
I'd like to thank you for reading my Blog, and wish you the very best of days and if you want to suggest me a good game please leave a comment!

RPGs are just fantasy books with grinding. Are you sure you don't just want to read a book?? haha
My favourite game for console that is an RPG is Eternal Darkness. More people are starting to look back at it and get pretentious, but if you can keep from becoming one of those people you will genuinely enjoy it I've beaten it three times at varying points and I still feel like it was incredibly well done. It has throw backs to Lovecraft, amazing voice acting, and pretty good writing (for a video game... still has a lot of things that I could improve).

Gothic 1 and 2 is a great rpg if you dont care about graphics as it is very old. i think its from 2000. Dont play gothic 3 or 4 because they are bad, Risen is also a decent rpg but it doesnt provide anything new to the rpg series its just a decent game.

you could try and get The Witcher 2.Its really fun.

Try the original Deus Ex. Such a rad game. Gothic 2 is my favorite RPG, if you havnt played Night of the Raven you could get that and replay gothic, it makes the game a LOT longer and actually explains/finishes some of the quests that were a bit broken in gothic 2.

Did you try assassin creed II and assassin creed: brotherhood? Protip: Buy a cheap joypad to increase the game experience, i bought one for 10€ just to use with assassin creed ^^

First of all: There is no Gothic 4, I refuse to acknowledge this pile of shit as a game The 3rd was okay-ish in my opinion, the world was just to large, if I recall correctly i spent the majority of my playing time on that runnung around. I also played Risen, yeah was kinda decent, but a little bit to short for my taste, also the ending is really bad, and the last fight against that fire demon thing is just laughable.

Of course i played Night of the Raven, easily the second best expansion pack to a game after Brood War. Deus Ex sounds interesting from what I read so far, I think I'm gonna take a look at, if I can find it somewhere that is Do you by any chance know if it runs on 64bit win7?

I played the 2nd part, but after my second day of playing the game somehow crashed and killed ~8 hours of playtime, since that I haven't found the motivation to finish it cause i don't want to do everything again. I do have a joypad (really old one, but good imo) but AC handles well enough with keyboard + mouse and all the joypads (even the expensive ones) frankly all kinda suck precisionwise
