One year.
365 days.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes.

How do you measure a year at TL? No, unfortunately it cannot be in seasons of love(although I have made my good deal of cherished friends here.) Is it by post count? By tournaments? Do you judge it by the quality of your writing or by possessing the quality of near-omnipotence(spam.)

While listening to the above song and thinking about what to write about, a tear began to make its way down the corner of my eye. Teamliquid has changed my life in so many ways that I can not even begin to truly express my sincere graitudude for having the chance to be part of such a loving community. A community which I can proudly proclaim to be my home “away” from home.

I love you guys, I really do. Nowhere else is there such an appreciation for civility, for kindness. Nowhere else are people as willing to help each other. The few bad eggs are predominantly handled by the careful, all seeing moderators who have successfully helped make this the best year of my life.

In one year I became fully immersed into the lore and culture of Starcraft. In one year my knowledge grew tenfold as I absorbed every single post I could, as I scrounged the treasures of threads past to search for all the BW and SC2 knowledge I could. In one year I went from thinking TLDR meant masturbation to being well-versed enough in our culture to apply for a writing position.

In celebrating this joyous occasion, I would like to commemorate a few special individuals who made this year the best of my life. And while there are many who I know and would even consider my friend, these people stand out in my memory as not only some of the most thoughtful people I have ever met, but as true friends. These are people who I have become greatly fond of, to the point where I have even Facebook-Friended them. These are people who deserve special applause, and a picture.

2.Ace-Loved playing Insane Mafia with you, that was probably my favorite game. If I obtained even one tenth of the prowess you have in that game, I would die a happy man.

Chill-Besides being one of the two mods I have played on ladder, I forgive you for the marine-scv rush all in you did to me on Steppes of War. You’re a great mod, caster, and role model. It’s people like you that shows why the secret dream of all Americans is to move to Canada.

And with the coming of age, the hallowed hallmark of a year, new responsibilities are arising to which I must meet. The report button is a sacred item, a kid’s version of the Mighty Banhammer which I shall use to my utmost ability. Since I have developed a thirst for a high quality forum, any opposition to that ideal shall be punished. Corpses of the unworthy shall rot. The pits of hell will be unleashed. People will have to sacrifice their firstborn in order to stop the inevitable onslaught.

For this is Teamliquid, and I'm never letting go of it.
