Just to make sure, you're masochistic or insane right? Dunno, they sure like to wander off into random mines or freeze. I don't even play Protoss and I complain about it, XD

great game, but your logic makes no sense. If your goal is to get better at sc2... play more sc2.
|
playing BW will make you a better BW player, not a better SC2 player..
Just because BW is harder doesn't mean they're not vastly different... You'll learn how to do manual surrounds, but the AI does it for you in SC2 so all your effort will be wasted there, etc.
Its a great game though, enjoy... Just your thought process is completely off.

Also, take full advantage of location hotkeys. Go anywhere, and shit Shift + F(2 or 3 or 4 here). Then, even if you move your screen away, by hitting the respective F key, you can instantly jump back to that screen. Whatever units you have selected will remain selected. It doesn't change anything but where your screen focus is. I don't know why they got rid of it in SC2. It's a ridiculously useful feature.
Keep your main mineral line binded to F2, your natural binded to F3, and your third binded to F4. Then, if any one of those bases is getting harassed, you hit F2, select 12 workers, F3 right click on a patch, F2, select the rest of the workers, F3, right click on a patch. You can transfer all your workers between bases in less than two seconds. They didn't. It's there and you can assign even more than three screens. Good luck, definitely try protoss first, it's the easiest to get used to 1a2a3a.
Oh, really? I guess it's just not on Shift+Fkey anymore. Just curious, what's the hotkey for it?

Yeah goon micro is fun and pretty intuitive. Playing on a map like Blue Storm is still pretty rough though. Dragoons hate Blue Storm Oh God, don't remind me..

SC2 camera save defaults to Shift+F9-12. I'm pretty sure it was implemented in a post-release patch that dealt with custom hotkeys so technically there was a period where it could've been considered "removed" from SC2.
If the OP's goal is to defeat the AI, every race is the easiest.

if your reasoning is to get better at SC2, playing BW will do it, but not as well or as quickly as playing SC2 will do.
If you just want to get better at a good game, however, go for BW.

|
BW is a damn fun game, but chances are your not going to be able to get good at it if sc2 plat is where your capping out right now.
put more effort into your play, tyr hard to play faster, go through your keys more often, check energy more, just be more proactive, force yourself ot play good and it will become natural over time.
|
Lol, once you have become decent at bw, sc2 will just be boring.
