Edit: Just so it is said. I am back playing zerg as promised. The map pool feels a lot better, and zerg is deffo the race i enjoy the most. But i got some nice understanding of what terrans are afraid of when playing against zerg, so it was a useful excercise! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This weekend it finally happened. I guess it was inevitable with the way things have been going, we have both felt the need for some space, some time apart, and seeing other people.
So I am officially offracing until the ladder map pool changes.
I played some games on sunday just to get into the swing of things, then yesterday I found Trumps 3 rax tutorial where you build up to 50 supply at the 7 minute mark and move out with stimmed marines and marauders.
Result so far: 3-0 against zerg, 0-1 against terran.
I feel kinda ashamed and dirty, I apologize for playing this race.
Hey, offracing should increase my understanding of the ZvT matchup, right? That must be a legitimate reason.
Eesh sorry to hear about your troubles. I know what you mean with the ZvZs, about 50% of my games are ZvZs too. And I'm very sorry to hear you are having success with terran 3 raxes so fast x.x
Well, it is the first defined build I ever try for terran, earlier I have just done whatever came into my mind at any given moment, and that was not too successfull. It seems to be a decent introduction to terran but I am quite aware that I will need to look into other stuff as I go along.
Anyhow the 7 minute timing has been working adequately so far.
I have been consistenly playing on par with top gold Terrand and protoss and also quite some platinums, but I have not had much success at all against zerg. At one point bnet started to match me against zerg players with like 10 games played. I have been stuck in silver for months, and my 20% winrate against zerg is probably to blame.
I made a thread about it (link), and the tips i received there helped me somewhat. Still, ZvZ is by far the matchup that i get the least amount of enjoyment from, and when the 50% plus rate of zvz ladder matches just continues then it just kills the pleasure in laddering.

IdrA forgives you.
But really, it's probably for the best. Even if you switch back to Zerg soon, playing as Terran or Protoss for a little bit can give you a new perspective on the match-ups, and definitely the timings!
Good luck! By the way, if you're just annoyed by a few of the maps, then why don't you just thumbs down those specific ones?
Taking a break from gaming for a while is a great thing to do. I played WoW for the first 2 years it was out and took a couple month long breaks when I couldn't take the raiding anymore. Came back and loved the game again.
