So I've done a few of these battle reports before, but i haven't done one for a long time. But finally tonight i achieved C rank on iccup!

It was a long time coming, looking back I made my C- celebration battle report just over 4 months ago. To be fair i had a break for wow inbetween but thats neither here nor there. I've finally made C and now its time to do a battle report.
Without wasting anymore let's get straight into this bad boy. Note that when i played this game i was 1 win away from achieving C rank.
The game opened up, a PVP on Python!

I spawned in the 9 oclock position as the cool looking purple protoss

Meanwhile my opponent spawned in the 3 oclock position as the green pieces

His name was i[o]_[o]i, but typing that out is a pain so i'm going to refer to him as "the dorky protoss" because of it
I go for a 12 nex (aka Frozen's PVP guide) but his scout arrives just as i drop my nexus  no surprise effect for me

Why is it i always end up 12 nexing vs 9 scouting players
He goes core before zealot to get a tech lead then sends a zealot to my base to bring the ruckus

And bring the ruckus it does
My 5 zealot push is going quite well, i scout all of his tech, and am pretty close to breaking him entirely

and then i decide to run away? wtf
I cannon up for the incoming DT drop but get surprised by a double drop which kills both my cannons

i lose a bunch of probes while i wait for my obs to get out
I then decide to counter a couple of minutes later only to get overrun by speed zealots

The dorky protoss then attacks my front while sending a shuttle into my nat. He storms it and i lose some probes but then the pulled probes going to my main get stormed, it was messy Heres a montage

The dorky protoss then launches into a style of play involving lots of counter attacks and avoiding direct conflict, almost taking out my third base

However i manage to catch his army and crush it! Then i counter into a bunch of templar and we trade armies

The only thing keeping me in the game at this point is my upgrades. I'm at 2-1-0 versus his 0-0-0 but his harass is hurting my economy almost to the breaking point

He launches yet another assault on my fourth and fifth bases while my units are out of position while sending a shuttle in to storm drop my fifth

Feeling quite depressed at this point i inquire as to his max rank

Hopefully you guys enjoy this battle report. Sorry if its a bit image heavy just couple work out what to leave out already had to cut so much. Hopefully people enjoyed one of me actually losing. I figured that since i lose about half my games, its only fair to do a battle report of me losing instead of all my wins.
I was going to do the game that actually got me to C but it ended up being boring and this game was a bit more exciting  Hopefully i'll try and do a few more of these in the future if people are enjoying them ^_^

Wow, I totally read that whole report thinking it was the game that got you to C. I was like: "He's going to come back after losing HOW many probes?!?!" I am disappoint.
The ending reminded me of our game, I was hoping the convo would go the same way but oh wellz :p

haha. I could've picked a winning game, but i wanted to share my frustration. I hit 3968 points about 6 times before i finally hit C very depressing

That was a riveting read. Did you find out what his max rank was after the game? From the report he seemed pretty nimble with his multitask, but honestly I'd expect at least as much out of a C because I have this image of them being really fucking good compared to scrubs like myself. Anyways congratulations.

I'm pretty sure he was C. Watching the replay while i took those screenshots made me see his play was kind of sloppy. his tactics were awesome, but like, he literally never made an obs. There were 2 points in the game where i could've straight up won the game. During the initial zealot attack, if i just let them attack move i would've killed his goons and probably at like 5-10 probes, slowing his following economy after the DT drop considerably. Also after his DT drop, i could've made 2 dt's, walked them into his main and killed everything while he was making an observatory.
I'm pretty sure he's C currently. Didn't have any past seasons of note, i can only assume it was an account he hadn't laddered seriously on before. His style was kind of an off the hip drop all the time and expand to strange locations. I think if we played a BOx series i would have more of a chance to figure out his style and win the macro battle. I was severely outclassed in this game though, i just couldn't deal with his constant harass and counter attacks

Congrats on reaching C rank. I remember watching your stream at school once and not wanting to go home because that would mean I would miss the result of this nice PvZ game.

hahaha i think that was a bit too one sided. Besides they wouldn't get the part where i try to build a nexus in the middle of the map to fake my starting position replays dont save whisper logs ><

Kiante congrats on your C, i know how frustrating can fights at c- level be especially at the beginning of season. Now you've officaly set your new goal, getting to C+ ^_^
Nice battle report, i hate to play pvp vs 12 nex as it usually seems that if i dont exp myself within 10 seconds from opp. or i don't do some massive plan that gives me advantage i straight up lose macro game. The worst part is if i 12nex myself, i end up fucked up from perfectly timed attack with reavers or some crazy dt stratefy that pass my 3 cannons and kills even 2 in the main or drop strat. (i am like yeah that is noob to build 2 cannons at my main nex i get so behind with that and then i die even with them lol....always facepalm)

I'm low D at the moment, but I shall definitely work towards D+, then C-, then C, and so on.

Go for it man. Really feels good when you hit that next rank XD and practice can only make you better!
i'll try and head for C+ soon, gonna see if i can get a stable C on my second account now (herpderp-_-) before i play with kiante. probably going to leave the kiante account stagnant till the change of season so my C is written into the internets XD

I'm usually between 170-230 depending on the matchup i'm playing, game length and how i'm feeling. Yeah you should start playing again ^_^ its fun

had 160 in this. Bit lower than normal for some reason most of my other games are over 170

omg i was in the exact same shoes as you where i kept getting in the 3900s over and over but i could never get that last game to push me over the edge until like 2 months ago

lol tbh i have no idea what happened in that game. i think i joined the stream well into the late game with most of the bases on FS taken. i don't remember it being too passive, but hell i haven't watched many streams at all lately so idk.
more battle reports would be amazing
