I stopped playing SC1 a lot around 2004, completely stopped playing it around 2006 when I went off to University. Even then I was a pretty terrible player, mostly customs and team games.

Recently I been playing SC2 and with that came a resurging interest in the SC1 pro scene.

Never watched Proleague before, I have watched a couple of OSL/MSL finals, and read about Proleague, so I knew who the people were and what the format was. I have also watched a few older Bisu/Jaedong/Flash matches for fun.

But watching SKT vs KT was woooow. The team format and the way PL was presented made it for an extremely pleasurable experience. The last match agains't BeSt and Flash made my mouth drop by how good BeSt's macro and pressure was.

Even comparing it to watching GSL and other SC2 tournies, I would have to say I was more entertained watching PL. Not because of the game itself, as right now I know very little about BW outside of my past experience in it, but it was because of the way PL was presented. It was like being taken on a ride. I hope the SC2 scene eventually grows to this quality.

I couldn't understand the commentators, but the sheer excitement of the commentators when something happened added a lot to the experience. Wish we had some commentators like that for SC2, only person who comes close is Day9 while doing his show.

I enjoy playing SC2 more than I ever enjoyed SC1, but watching these people work was highly entertaining. Looking forward to watching PL this season, think I might be a fan of BeSt now.

This is mainly because BW has an established and prestigious scene. The quality and execution of these events took years in the making. The game itself is such a great spectator sport and the commentators emotions get on to the viewers very well. Thats why the BW scene is the greatest eSports scene ever. Now as for SC2, if you look at tournaments happening at the start of the release and compare it to MLG DC, then the quality of games and level of commentary has improved dramatically. As time passes by SC2 should develop into something that will make BW proud.

I agree about the commentators. I can't understand them at all, but they are still so much better than any english caster I've ever heard.

Best is kinda a rockstar.

Also, the players are still better in BW than SC2, in my opinion, but we have GSL2 to look at, hah.

Loooove the korean commentators. So exciting.

what he means is that in two rounds you'll see 4 of these names lined up to be all-killed by (P)BeSt.

SC1 will always have the nostalgia factor to me. as long as they keep progaming alive i will continue to have interest. hopefully with time SC2 will mature and become a more enjoyable spectator esport but it's so hard to watch in the current state it is in.

Proleague is darn fun, fo' sure. The format and overall atmosphere, much more than BW itself, is what's kept me coming back again and again.

Plus, Stork is just that awesome. SAMSUNG KHAN FIGHTING!

it'll be tough catching all the matches (since it happens like 6 days out of 7) but keep watch of this thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=52045. And i also agree that team format beats individual leagues any day : P

Note that: TvTs might be excruciating and mundane to follow..... but Winner's League more than makes up for it with ALL KILLs everywhere

EDIT: WTF post on top of me....
SC2 is to BW, what coke is to wine.
