Hey TL, I've been wondering since theres a lot of players here that im certain have at least 100 games in either SC1 or SC2. I now wonder, how the hell do you all find time to play? lol
As some of you would know, I'm currently working as a trainee for my engineering degree. Anyway, I can't seem to find time to mass games or practice 1v1s. Hell, I cant find time for even other stuff
The things I want to do right now 1) Play SC2 + Call of Duty 4 (<sometimes) 2) Study / Work (Consider as one for now) 3) Write novelia 4) Exercise (Yes, I'm sadly fat D 5) Read and learn new things 6) A social life
Even as of now, I can only get 1, 2 and 3 done as of this time.
Current Schedule:
Weekdays
7.00 AM - wake up 7.30 AM - Leave for work 5.30 PM - Done work, reaches home at 6 - 6.30 approx Sleep at 10.00PM or 11.00 latest.
Weekends Free
Even as of now, I still interested in learning the piano, Digital Animation, Film production and a lot of other stuff but like i said...no time.
And I see people who can mass up games like no tomorrow. How do ppl find time? I tried a schedule...I totally do not have the discipline for it. T_T. Anwyay, i still don't have enough time. So....tell me your secret tips. . Thanks
PS: Side question unrelated to this blog, Concussive Shells do not slow down attack rate of the target unit right?

People have different priorities. Those who game "100 games a day" simply don't have other obligations or aspirations other than becoming better at gaming.
There is no "secret", no one can magically turn 24 hrs into 30 hrs, so I really don't know what you are asking.

Concussive shells are not that imba, no.

Find the times of day when you're just sitting around, wasting time, not doing any of the things you listed as important to you. That's the time you're wasting. Stop wasting it, and use it !

It sounds like you want to do too many things at once. It's nice to have goals of "I want to get in shape" or "I want to get better at SC2", but you need to prioritize, and realize that there aren't 50 hours in a day, and you need to figure out which ones you REALLY want to do, and accept that if you do these things, you won't have time for other stuff you want to do.

dude i played starcraft for almost 8 years, let me tell you something... prioritize exercise over gaming... i lost my teen ages playing bw , and i dont regret it, but if i just stop for an hour and a half every day to workout in this moment i would be feeling a lot better with myself.
play for fun, don't try to be Bisu.

Make a schedule and stick to it. It may seem dull and not spontaneous, but you'll get shit done.

I think that's just growing up. Life gets busier, you have less time, and it comes down to deciding how you want to spend it.
i found a spurt for 2 weeks where my crazy life took half a breath and i got in 100 games. I haven't been able to log on since, for an even hour .
I work, have other responsibilities, play soccer 4 nights a week, and like to spend what remaining time i have hanging out with friends. I would kill for an extra 2 hours a day.
edit - while it might be a bit dodgy of advice, you could cut back on sleep. I get probably 6 hours on average, and as long as i get 4 hours i can function/be happy.

In most cases, "lack of time" is essentially "lack of willpower." If you turn your entire life into a strict regimen, you'll be surprised at the amount of time you actually have to do stuff. It's up to you to determine whether or not you can live with a certain amount of strictness to your life. If you can, then great. If you can't, well there's no secret.
There's an entire area of your brain in the prefrontal cortex dedicated to overriding your instincts and desires, essentially giving you executive control over your body. Show it some love.

That's pretty presumptuous.
Of all the things he listed he wanted to do, it's not physically possible to do them all. Willpower is irrelevant.

You should evaluate how dedicated you are to your interests. How important is one interest compared to another? Which ones are you the most serious about doing?
Perhaps you will find that you do have enough time for the interests that are the most important to you.
In either case I don't think you're in a bad situation. If you can keep yourself busy at all times, you're not going to be bored at least. ^_^

Well Mora I would like to cut back on sleep but lacking sleep may be a life risk during my drives to work lol. I can work with 6 but I don't wanna be an afternoon zombie at work lol.
Anyway, I think I'll try to start a bit of exercise first during weekends in the morning (Think 7am....yes i wake up regularly at that time for NO #*(%*&#()%&)#(ING REASON lol) I'll be trying morning walks in the park nearby (Again lol) . Problem I found is the well..I don't have the exercise mood (Having a friend makes a big difference but anyway....)
So, I'll be trying to calculate some stuff for SC2 while I walk, (Yes I will look like a fucking idiot with some paper, pencil and a calculator but whatever lol). It had worked once and I'll try to keep it routine this time. (Instead of going oh i'm so lazy.....i shall go to the PC)
I'll try to get a new schedule up Piy. And yes, I know I won't be a progamer.....I know I just don't fit it lol. I'm trying to be competitive at least, learning how to study something different at least lol.
Now...what are the most important interest to me.....that I will have to find out lol.

Fact is you can't fulfill all your hobbies. You need to pick the hobbies you really want to pursue and for the most part, you should put the rest on the backburner. I think someone I know mentioned that you really can only go full out with 2-3 hobbies whether it be photography and biking or learning the guitar and becoming an amateur animator.

less sleep
no seriously you need to prioritize something, if it's gaming then so be it

Concerning exercise, you can just do a really hard 20 minute workout when you get home from work. Like really, after walking home/driving, change into your sweats and get going. But i dont mean to just jog or something outside. My friend put me on this thing, and we change it up a bit every week, but ultimately its something like
800 meter run (not jogging) 50 squats 20 pushups
and repeat that for 5 sets. The workout only takes like 20 minutes and at the end you'll be so burned out. But if you can keep it up everyday you start to see results really fast like overall more energy, faster metabolism, and naturally, weight loss. Theres also ones like 5 chinups, 10 pushups, 15 squats x 10. Quick, fast, hurts like a bitch but does a lot.
save social life for friday evenings + weekends? I usually only go out on friday evenings, other days i have evening labs, midterms + MCATS to study for. Learning new things is very subjective, depending on what you wanna learn you'll need to dedicate more time. If its an instrument for example, the rule of thumb is minimum 1 hour a day =\ Other than that, just play some 1v1's during your spare time when you're done studying for the day, or about to sleep, just play one or two games and head off to bed?

Good luck with this, its the classic problem.
Somethings I can think of: - identify and eliminate wasted time. Sounds simple but this is huge.
- Maybe sleep less haha. I dont know whats ideal, but it might be possible to get by on less than 9hrs. Maybe like 4-6.
-Scheduling/Efficiency ideas. Somethings dont need to be done every single day. Having planned goals/routines vs. arbitrarily doing an x hour/day of something etc. Tighten things up, you can do more in less time hopefully.
