Good Korean BBQ (Bulgogy) Recipe?

So I didn't eat Bulgogi for waaaay to long and since it's just much too expensive around here I wanna try to cook it myself. The problem is that sure, I find a lot of recipes on the internet. It's just that every recipe says something different and I'm looking for the BEST there is^^

The way I know it: Just meat, some onions and carrots on top of a layer of lettuce. Doesn't have to be exactly like that, I can still vary of course, but I'd really like to know if anyone here cooks this dish sometimes and what you guys can recommend.

As a Korean who regularly eats BBQ, you don't need a recipe to make Korean BBQ. You just need korean-style meat that's marinated and side dishes. If you realllly want to, you can cook them with onions and some peppers. I've never heard of carrots and a layer of lettuce.

Edit: Oh I think you were talking about wrapping the meat in lettuce.

If you visit Los Angeles (or Korea) you can find tons of Korean BBQ restaurants that are relatively cheap. (Literally 1 in every block)

@Miss_Cleo: Are you assuming that he can buy meat that is already marinated korean style? This may not be a luxury that is available to him.

One big part of what makes bulgogi good is the marinade. Most of the recipes online have very similar ingredients for what goes into the marinade, so I say just pick one and go with it.

Hm bummer, thought TL would be the site for finding a recipe for a Korean dish that people have already tested :/

As you might see I'm not particulalrly near from either LA or Korea, so it's not very easy to find any ingredients that are specially for Korean food. And yes, it's mostly about the marinade since the most recipes don't mention any seasoning except maybe pepper.

All you need is some decent meat, rice, side dishes and a wrap (lettuce or rice wrap)

popular side dishes are kim chee, (obviously) potato salad, soups, veggies
