Frankly, how would a straight Joe feel when showering with an openly gay male? Will the military spend billions of dollars to create separated shower places or risk losing the same amount of money due to lawsuit files from the same dilemma?
Not the most proper argument but gets the point across.
Male to male bonding is way more open in the military than those of college fraternities. Due to this, sexual harassment cases will sky-rocket cause of Joes trying to abuse the system of open sexual polices to get monetary compensation or whatever reasons for their benefit.
Excuse me, but what you're talking about is bullshit. Complete and utter nonsense. The Israeli military allows openly gay soldiers. I've showered with gay people, and it's basically just the same as showering with any other dude. You're thinking that gay people have no self restraint and cannot differentiate companionship and sexual attraction - that attitude is just wrong. There have been no cases of sexual harassment between gay soldiers and straight soldiers or between two gay soldiers since this attitude has replaced a similar "don't ask don't tell" policy the Israeli military had over a decade ago, while straight commanders have been on occasionally sexually harassing female soldiers.
You obviously don't know much about the strength of the bonds between soldiers. We accept personality flaws and other quirks because we have to trust friends with our lives in dangerous situations, and from basic to specialized to advanced training the things guys go through together are much more potent than any preconception. Homophobia is stupid. Where a person prefers to stick his dick is irrelevant when doing military duties.
I think your opinion reeks of ideas that don't belong in the 21st century.
