So I was sitting at dinner today with a group of people at college and there's this girl at the table we'll call Emily.
And so some other guy at the table starts talking about how he explained to Emily what masturbation was earlier that day.
As in, she didn't know what masturbation was (female or male) prior to that. A 19 year old girl. And she apparantly grew up in the US and went to public school and everything.
Am I the only one that finds this outrageous?
What the fuck? And she doesn't know like tons of other stuff either.
Poll: Well?Yes, it's outrageous. (43) 73% No, it isn't that outrageous. (16) 27% 59 total votes Your vote: Well? (Vote): Yes, it's outrageous. (Vote): No, it isn't that outrageous.
Just wondering...

Holy shit, what I find more outrageous is how blogs/casual writers can't find good stuff to write about nowadays!
What a degradation.
On the other hand, so what? It's not like the world's ending if she doesn't know she has a vagina or not, nor does it directly affect you in any way...
... I take that back, this blog wouldn't have been here otherwise.

Not outrageous. In military i met a girl who left a tampon inside herself for 3 months and it got infected and she had to have surgery. Some people are just fucked up (ps, was she asian? Because if your girl was asian we can draw all sorts of fantastic conclusions)

I personally believe, that U.S. Americans, are unable to do so, because uh, some, people out there, in our nation don’t have maps. and uh… I believe that our education like such as in South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere like such as… and, I believe they should uh, our education over here, in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa, and should help the Iraq and Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.”

I had a girlfriend who was 19 and claimed never to have masturbated and didn't know what a clit is/where it's located... the most ridiculous thing was she had a boyfriend for 4 years in highschool and they did plenty of messing around.

maybe she.. or i guess it might be.. bleh, just post a pic

Get on that shit if she is hot. She has no clue of what is sexually right or wrong. You could be all like, you wanna learn? And then bam. Cross some of those sexual fantasies to fulfill before you die.
Disclaimer: I have no experience in creating sex slaves.

I don't think it's THAT weird. I can recall many times when I didn't know something that other people considered obvious, and the simple answer why was because everyone was so convinced everyone knew that nobody talked about it.
You may think that for example masturbation is mentioned so often in popular media etc that there is no way of not knowing about it, but then again they never talk about using your hands to rub your crotch to induce pleasure, its always subtle hints and slang, which to anyone why doesn't know could mean anything, like an inside joke.
If I didn't know about masturbation and someone on TV said something about rubbing their crotch, I'd probably just think it were a rapper.

Wow...I don't even know what to say :X

I have this flatmate(female) that is 24 who is with 95% probability a virgin. Not that she's ugly or something, rather the opposite she has a pretty face and her ass is really hot. But she is this really stubborn individual poisoned with deep christianity.

I totally believed you as soon as I read that last word.

I think the bitch was lying/being modest/coy/playing dumb etc. It's literally impossible to not know what it is. So yes, you are clueless.

normally parents don't tell their kids what masturbation is.

Its outrageous, but I know somebody who is EXACTLY the same. I have no clue how she never learned anything from anywhere before hand.

Uh oh.... hate to be the one to break it to you, but you don't need to take out a tampon to pee. Urine doesn't come out the vagina....
EDIT: but I can sympathise, there was a time when this was news to me as well.

She is 100% lying.
There is zero chance that she has gone through 19 years of life ANYWHERE in the world and not know about masturbation/sex unless she was in complete isolation and had no communication with anyone her age while growing up. If she went to public school she at least knows about sex and where babies come from (i.e. sex education). But I really doubt she was being serious.

She probably didn't know things like this could happen and didn't think it was a big deal to keep it there for three months.

IcMP lolololo
I think it's pretty outrageous not to know what masturbation is :/
|
I am a male, and I didn't know what jacking off was until someone made the hand motion sometime in highschool (must've been 16/17 at the time).
|
Its very possible Sometimes parents/schools dont do proper sex ed.
But she's probably masturbated in some form anyway, just didnt know what it was called haha.

LOL.
I think it's outrageous. Even 3rd graders know what it is nowadays.

i learned what jacking off was at a young age thanks to baldurs gate 2. i pick pocketd some guy or something and ran upstairs to tell my dad of my great achievment. "dad i just jacked this guy off so hard!" he's like WHAT?! i'm like lols yeah!

True story, one of my ex's best friends didn't know that females could have orgasms. She thought it only felt good for her with nothing at the end. She was 18 at the time.

there's also the possibility that she was lying. a lot of girls still think it isn't lady like to discuss those things, so this particular girl could have went further and denied its very existence!

church yes the source of all problems in this world

Lets not go there, but they do do a fantastic job of pretending sex doesn't exist.

Yea, she's obviously lying, trying to keep a good-girl image going. Don't worry, girls like this usually build up some crazy sexual frustration, and grow up to be awesome sluts. If she's hot, tap that ass like there's no tomorrow.

Even worse. It seems like an attention whore imo. "OOOH WTF, you don't know bout masturbation????"
and you totally played into it by making this thread.

It's possible. Some people, especially religious girls, just really don't think about sex like ever.

That's like saying you don't know who the President of the US is, or what religion is. You don't have to agree/practice it, but complete ignorance on the subject is damn near impossible. Especially if she went to a public school.

It's not something that's really talked about openly in public very often.

Yeah really. I mean, I could see not going on the internet much, but between horny, prepubescent kids at school and the tv/media, it's damn near impossible.

She was looking to get laid honestly.

It is believable. But the likelyhood that she was lying is far greater.
