That's what I'm planning on for my build at least. Still not sure if I want to get an i7 though or just get an i5. lol you shouldn't crossfire with an i5 based system

Go any higher and the x8 will bite off some FPS. as for my suggested build... + Show Spoiler [Build] + CPU: Intel i7 930 $295 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115225 Mobo: EVGA E758-TR $255 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188046 Memory: Mushkin Enhanced Redline 6GB $260 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226050 SSD: Intel X25-M 80GB $225 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167023 PSU: SeaSonic X750 $180 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087 HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Black $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284 GPU: HIS ATi HD 5870 1GB $420 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161301 Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197 Heatsink/Fan: Scythe Mugen-2 $35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185093 Total: $1870 And I'm not very knowledgeable in monitors so I'll hold off for someone who knows more about them... Now as for explanations: i7 930 has the extra multiplier which will help you overclock more. The more multipliers a CPU has, the easier it is to overclock, and people have been getting 4.6GHz with the i7 930. Fully worth the extra money imo. Mobo is just EVGA. I prefer ASUS, but whatever. Memory is probably the most controversial part of the build. $260 for RAM? wat? Well, those Mushkins have extremely tight timings, and are very good with high overclocks. I would normally have recommended Corsair Dominators, but Dominators have been a bit sketchy lately, and they are a bit tall for that heatsink. IMO, if you have the money for them, definitely get them, but if not a triplet of Corsair XMS/Dominator, Crucial BallistX, or Kingston HyperX. The PSU is probably another part to have people scratch their heads. SeaSonic is probably the best PSU manufacturer at the moment. The best Corsair PSUs, (650HX, 650TX, 750HX) are just Seasonic OEMs. That particular SeaSonic is also fully modular, and 80+ Gold, which means it is extremely efficient in power. Fully modular means that your cable management will be much easier. If you don't want to spend that much, a Corsair 750HX, or an Antec TruePower 750W would be great PSUs as well. The Scythe Mugen-2 is just overall an amazing Heatsink/Fan. It outperforms just about every other HSF, and is fairly cheap at $35.
