I don't play solely to be good at it, but that is a big part of it. The competitive nature of the game is the only thing that prevents it from collecting dust only to be installed for occasional nostalgia. One could just as easily argue that if you play a particular game all the time, but with no emphasis on improving at it, well I suppose that could be considered a time sink.
I don't know about you, but when I play bw I get upset at myself when my play is below average for me. I assume that would be even more of a problem if I played bw and sc2 simultaneously.
