I don't know how the match making decides people to play against, but everyone we played was absolutely terrible except for one game. We both went random, and having never played zerg or protoss until then it turned out they are incredibly easy to pick up and go. I still really wanted to hit p for probes and pylons T_T
The funniest game was when our opponents both went double gas before any tech buildings. At first it seemed like maybe there was something missing, than we realized they were just bad and ended the game shortly after. Another game I went ghost rush/nukes while my ally did some things with roaches, but mostly just spammed creep across the map. Maybe because it was late at night it was impossible to find better people to vs., or maybe placement rounds are just that way.
That's my brief run-in with 2v2ing, our end score was 10-1. Tomorrow if we play it will be interesting to see how it goes against hopefully better players.
Didn't 1v1 much, but did get to play around with banshees a bit, which I have been trying to do since cloak was changed. Banshees are wtf powerful and having that cloak without taking the next step in tech for a fusion core makes them great for quick harass. Also tested banshee/viking/raven with good results, as the mobility is really, really nice.
My build tends to go 1rax 1fact 1port, make hellions+medivac for a drop than switch to banshees while expanding with bunkers/planetary. I need a lot more games of testing it, but so far it can work quite well, which I'm happy for because I really don't want to do bio builds in tvp. Yes they are effective and let you be aggresive early game, but if mech has no viability i want to know why, and that requires finding every possible opening/mid game strat and weighing it vs. what the protoss can do, and what bio could do instead.
sleepy time, internet people supposed to be out here tomorrow, so if anything gets fixed i might actually be able to play the beta before 10pm. yay.
