If you loved CS 1.0-1.6 and hated when Source came just to punch you in the face... this is (hopefully, maybe, well probably, most likely, heck I hope so!?) the future for CS. After many years of on and off talk and bad reviews, the CSPromod team finally seems to have done something good. I'ma try this out personally right now, perfect warmup before the TSL ro16 day 2!

Nice, don't have source installed ATM but would appreciate just like quick thoughts of what you think of it after you're done. I tried it out when it first came out, there were some bugs but it didn't seem ridiculously bad, but it just seemed to never catch on.
|
Wait.... does it mod 1.6 or CSS? I only have 1.6, so I want to know if I should even download it...
|
I downloaded it, then noticed i have to have source installed, guess i won't be trying it until tomorrow, but it sure does look promising \o/
|
Did it finally come out? I remember they saying it would DEFINITELY come out 2009.
|
It mods source. Which I found kind of silly when they're not taking advantage of the biggest thing source had to offer which was Havok physics. They might as well have just updated the graphics in 1.6 instead; much quicker...
|
just tested it...shit feels much more like source than 1.6
didnt really like it
|
ya i just played for a hour...kinda meh. the source models just doesn't feel right
|
Ok I played it on aim map and normal maps, the aim is totally 1.6 and that really makes the game feel much better. They have alot of bugs to fix; like skins, textures and most importantly the sounds. Overall it was a nice experience and I'll play it more when the TSL stream is over. This definately has potential, and if you got steam+source you should totally download and try it out.
A couple of screenshots, first is mainscreen and second is from the new aim map holding a deagle.

No wonder I left CS cause its still the samething but this time with source models.
|
I get the feeling they'll do this to SC2 at some point =(

why still play CS when there is already so much better FPS? (MW2)

Except it's old... which promod is about to change!

Welcome SC2 Beta! Not only can I comment about SC strategy, where I am only partially qualified to suggest threads, I can now talk about super legit SC2 strategy, which I know absolutely nothing about. My SC2 knowledge will mainly consist of me guessing what threads are "quality" and relinking them here.
- Updates one of his old threads with a video about execution. Check out the thread (and the video) here.
- CharlieMurphy writes his guide on the 6 pool. Check out Charlie's innovative build here I'm pretty sure that this build will have the most longevity of anything talked about in the Beta forum, especially if SC1 is an indicator of how things could change.

Your analogy falls apart when we realize that MW2 is pretty good and DOW2 is absolutely terrible.

You're wrong about one of those statements.

Hahaha, MW2 is not good nor is it competitive.
|
Same as DoW2...
I have fun playing both casually though.
