When you energy upgrade units those units SPAWN WITH MORE ENERGY? WTF. The upgrade itself even says "adds 50 max energy to your units" in the description when you hover mouse over it. How the fock am I supposed to know your units start with more energy omg this is huge, medics spawning with more energy in TvZ is crazy useful isn't it? LOL.
11 years and I've always thought the energy upgrades just added 50 max energy to the units max. I didn't know energy units will always spawn with 1/4 of their max energy! I thought units ALWAYS spawn with 50 energy, comsats always start with 50 energy, vessels always pop with 50 energy... it's just been my standard way of thinking for YEARS with any and every energy unit/building.

This is ridiculous how could I never have heard/known about this? I watch a million reps and I never noticed it, do top players even do it much and I just have never noticed? wow wtf! I never EVER research energy upgrades because I never really thought my units get to 200/200 energy much anyway so I always thought it was pointless. The only energy upgrade I thought was worth it was Arbiters for late game because they get a recall+stasis and you usually save their energy for key battles and recall timings and stuff but I don't even play protoss so I would never notice the units spawning with more energy.
omfg this has srsly changed my world, I'm adding a poll just for the hell of it, I couldn't have been the only one that didn't know about this, could I?

I like how after discovering this you picked one of the few examples (Medics) for which it really doesn't justify the cost =)
HT 62 vs 50, Arbiter 62 vs 50, and to a lesser extent Vessel 62 vs 50 - now THAT is a big difference.

maybe its because you use the base of your pinky finger to hit ctrl, which is why you never knew about the energy upgrade?

that def makes it easier for my hotkey assignments, BY FAR. I dunno how easy it would be to pull off with smaller hands though.

But yeah, I never realized it either. Its only worth it for certain units though I think, I don't believe medic is justifiable. Oh and also just so you know it doesn't work for Dark Archon's since they morph from the 2 DT's. I feel like there is another unit it doesn't work for but I just can't remember.
