I'm tired, don't want to write much to qualify for strat forum, so just posting it here.
Basically I was able to set up a containment and it got raped and I gg out. I lost with 2k gas in the bank and no minerals and I was wondering if there's anything wrong with my spending mentalities or macro/meta-game in general.

Anyways give the replay a look and some advise is highly appreciated.

Sounds like the classic 2005 zvp, fails a contain before defilers kick in or spends too much on contain and has no drones. And then the toss just simply comes out with a critical mass that steamrolls your contain and you have nothing behind. Im tired, and wont give any meaningful advice other than just watch any zvp pre-savior.

Ok... what i just saw u made mass lings and few lurkers so simply that 3rd gas was usless...
3rd gas is necessary when ur doin mass lurkers/hydras and goin to hive tech defilers/ultras (need 4th gas there aswell). I think u just came to hive tech bit too fast, you should focus more on producing army.

Next thing is that u didnt scouted and covered map well... he made 3rd expo and u didnt even noticed that. You could take it down pretty easy and cheap since he couldnt go out from his nat faster due ur lurkers infront of his nat.

It was good that u tried to muta harass but u made it kinda fail... you tried to destroy pylon instead of probes. He had just 1 cannon there. Try to stack them they are more effective then, if u dont know how go on liquipedia and search muta harass. It would be even better if u do it faster and make more mutas. Remember if ur above his probes he cant storm you simply bcuz he will kill all his probes so these 2 goons and 1 cannon couldnt save him from damage.

If you dont know what hes doing use scourages to scout, they are pretty cheap (specially looking on ur high ammount of gas), and ofc you should deny these corsais with scourages.

Well ur main question was about the gas so... dont do 3rd gas if u are mainly using lings since they dont need it and just put these 4 drones to minerals instead of gas. (4 drones =1 wasted on extractor and 3 on mining gas if someone dont know why 4 xD )
