no defense nor gk, they are good/great from mid/forward, but on the back side they are just awful

Saudi's 2 goals, while brilliant and clinical, happened in a moment of lapse of focus. Argentina wasn't firing in all cylinders, but they still dominated the game in large parts. Saudi's high press was a major gamble that paid off simply because Argentina's strike force mid-timed their runs by milliseconds. Also, the weather could've played a role in reducing their energy levels in the second half (kickoff was at 1pm local time wtf). Overall, it's a result no different than Man City getting sucker-punched by Brentford. Yes, Argentina performed below-par but not abysmal. I'm actually more impressed by Tunisia's performance and thought they deserved the win more than Saudi. Of course, it's the results that matter most. But it's too early to judge a team based on a single performance. Spain lost the first game and yet won the WC in 2010. Argentina lost to Cameroon in the first game of WC 1990 and yet finished runners-up. History has shown, time and time again, that teams coming up with guns blazing in group matches tend to lose steam later on. That said, Brazil and France are still bigger favourites.

It will be interesting to see how the Saudi players recover emotionally and mentally after what should be the highest point of their professional career.

Of course, keepers may lose form every now and then. But he did nothing wrong in yesterday's game (unlike Mendy for Senegal).

On the other hand, I could see this team having a 2010-moment were they unexpectedly turn out to be a super well oiled unit that looks like future champions.
