The standard disclaimer: I didn't see any threads about this subject, so I thought I'd ask.
In one of the most recent State of the Game episodes (hope it's coming back soon!) it was discussed how streaming is now a great income generator for Pros. I always assumed that it was the number of viewers that determined how much a person gets from streaming, but was curious on the specifics of how it worked. (What sparked my question today was seeing the numbers Day[9] is pulling in for Dreamhack. I hope he's going to do really well for himself today!)
Anyway, I'm just curious how much a Pro can get from streaming. Anyone have any info/figures to share?

$.002 *viewers*number of commenrcials i believe if I'm wrong I'll delete this

Heard so too, chocolate. (It turns out as $2 per 1000 viewers per commercial).

assuming one makes $2/1000 viewers/commericals, 3.5 games / hr (pretty typical I think) 1/2 viewers use adblock (an unfortunate truth, but this is the figure I've heard from many streamers)
IdrA would make about $28/hr (8 k viewers avg) white-ra would make about $21/hr (6k viewers avg) destiny would make about $7/hr (2k viewers avg) streamer x would make a $1.75/hr (500 viewers avg, a typical featured stream you see on TL) I would make about $.0007/hr (2 viewers avg, lul).
So, you can't really make a comfortable living until you get a pretty strong following. Or you could demand your viewers to disable adblock :p

If you are watching jtv from europe and don't get commercials, streamer don't get money right?

Destiny posted a graph showing his income over March 2011, he pulled in around $4k. I can't find it right now so you'll have to just trust me on that, but you can take that as a general idea of what the top streamers make (Destiny's huge following and the sheer number of hours he streams probably makes him the most profitable).

Is that viewers watching the stream or viewers who actauly watch the commercials? A lot of people (myself inclueded) never get the commercials even with add-blcok disabled.

Well i wouldnt even say 1/2 people use ad blocker, for me i never will because i like to support E-Sports and im sure i can sit through a 30 second commercial (which all can be muted now anyway thanks to JTV actually listening to people) so its pretty fair deal, 30seconds of doing something else before a match comes back on in return of them actually playing...

0.002 x viewers = $. idra for example /commercials after every game he will be bordering 3 pushing 4 games an hour, @ 8k viewers thats $16...i cant see that being right? $16 an hour wouldnt keep idra streaming considering he only streams for liek 2hours a day max? xD Idra gains income from sponsors, tournaments and coaching aswell. It's not like streaming is the only income for progamers, it's just a nice way to actually make some money whilst practicing.
Ofc but i was miss calculating in the last paragraph hense i edited out works out like $30-40 an hour idra makes from streaming so streaming 2 hours a night to make a quick $100 is pretty cost effecient along with his like $200 an hour coaching? lol
Rich man xD

Damn, if only I could do a fake IdrA stream and stream for 24 hours.
I think people would notice that instead of world class Zerg they were seeing a Gold Terran...

Day9 made 160 bucks for that one 30sec commercial during DH yesterday then..

I can vouch for this... I'm sure someone will post the graphic soon. I can't find it myself.

The Shoutcraft tournament pricepool was from TBs stream income from one month, 1500 dollar.
Not bad I guess, concidering he streamed only about an hour for 4/5 days a week.
