Remember that the leagues lock is not a "bug", it's intentional. That means that a patch won't automatically unlock anything.

like any sports. You play for a championship a goal. Imagine the NFL with no superbowl. Who would watch?

Its funny though, because in the past couple days EVERYBODY Ive played has been top 8 in their division, so I guess a lot of people are grinding to get that promotion as soon as the leagues are unlocked.

no? are you dumb? if you play to only have fun then why would there be a ranking system in the first place? To measure your skill. But if you are not playing for fun getting better is going to be a long grind.

If you play for fun and don't care about your ranking, or don't care if you win or lose (trademark of playing for fun), you won't improve.

But you'll have to go through someone who is a GM. So for example, go to sc2ranks and click on someone in GM, and then click through to the bnet profile, then click on their 1v1 league. For example: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/390507/1/ROOTKiWiKaKi/ladder/41471#current-rank

He's saying playing the game should be fun first, with the ranking system just an addition. If you are playing to improve, but don't find the game fun, why would you even continue? Unless you think you could make some money off of it, otherwise there doesn't seem to be much purpose to it.

Errbodys wrong, Ladder points or leagues do not dictate how good you are. Its about who you can beat. Ladder is a training tool if you really wanted to get better you wouldn't care that promotions were paused. And of course you are playing "for" fun. Competitive fun, with blood. Forget the ladder. Try and beat players that are better than you. for fun.
