I thought this was some sort of mock-up demo to show that Rainbow could be used to market goods. What with the bad lighting, lack of image management, lack of speech coaching, ugly props, poor audio recording, and that it was shot in someone's living room. + Show Spoiler [Evidently, those ugly toys are real] +

Reckon the wink and lack of upper lip did look familiar, but I would never be worthy enough to allow myself to imagine her horizontal to the point my facial recognition would be able to kick out positives. I do not intend to start doing so, time to sleep deprivate until that picture is redacted from my mind.

Personally, I find personality a huge part of my own fanboyism. Excuse my lack of heteronormativity when I mention that I have a hard time looking at the kpop groups with sexuality in mind. Don't get me wrong, looks are very important, but I find I'm always being sucked in by a personality that matches the overwhelming amount of cuteness. Like you said, Soyeon isn't off the charts in the looks department and I can understand your opinion from the point of view of someone who has probably just watched yayaya or bo peep live a few times. After watching all the subbed versions of hello baby, dream girls and the countless variety shows, I find that I looked at T-ara really different and Soyeon being the the most drastic change for me because of her large personality that you can only find outside of their performances. It is also easy to listen to T-ara's singles and assume that they are all just of average pop level vocals but it isn't until you listen to T-ara's full album's to recognize that Soyeon basically sings all of them... I mean almost every song is led by her vocals + a eunjung/hwayoung rap part. She's fucking good at singing, shes pretty cute and is a fun personality.

No, you are completely right.
I have to agree with you guys. I liked her when she had her long hair in TTL, but when she has her short hair she's not very attractive. On that note I think Boram looks much better with longish hair too.
And no, it's not that I have a thing for long hair... It just suits some people more imo.

I thought Soyeon looked really good in the Wae Ironi music video.
Oh man, that Jessica vid. What a goofball, I love it.
In other news, IU going to be singing the theme song to that ice skating show with Kim Yuna.
Rumored. She wants to, nothing confirmed.
As for Soyeon, she looks ok most of the time but the fact that she has to stand next to the rest of her group makes her look fairly average. Put her in a group like Co-Ed and she'd stand out and look fucking amazing. Agreeing with the ok-but-not-spectacular camp.

Ahh you're right about IU. I guess I'm just being hopeful haha.
I started watching T-ara's Hello Baby and I think Soyeon is pretty cute. She definitely has her own distinct charm. I definitely agree with one of the earlier posts saying how their personalities can affect fanboyism. Watching these chicks on variety shows and stuff lets you see more about them other than their stage presence.

Well It isn't a living room, its the studio where they recording the opening and ending (in Japanese and English) to what I can only imagine will be a terrible tv show or commercial?
edit- as for Soyeon's variety personality, she comes off ok but Hyomin/Eunjung/Jiyeon overshadow her in terms of personality...may just be the editing because they're the most frequently marketed and most popular, but I never thought she was particularly cute or awesome or anything.

You don't recognize T-ara voices at all. Most of their songs are 75% Eunjung/Hyomin. They have the most singing lines and have rap parts. Soyeon gets about half of the chorus and some lines in the bridge usually.

For a lot of promotions the backing track was louder than the live vocals as well. Made it so that you could only tell Qri couldn't sing if you were listening for it.
Also it's really hard to tell anything at all from T-ara MVs or CCM videos in general, because whoever edits those hate people with epilepsy or something, they're always in bright locations and they always cut from face to group to other face to random dance to face in like 2 seconds, and can't hold a still image. I have no problems with motion sickness yet still felt disoriented/slight headache after listening to "I go crazy...". On top of that, the person that they show singing the parts is completely random; they simply give different members solo shots at random times so it's impossible to tell who sings what until they sing live.

Thanks to the wonders of internet download limits I don't get to watch as much variety and stuff as I would like since I gotta account for hours of SC2 pretty much every day. Makes me sadface cause I get to know celebrities in that fashion rather than through their music or stage shows.
^man that sucks. I was under the impression that AU and SE Asia got a few Korean channels though, KBS at a minimum? Thought I heard that somewhere, but not sure.

If I got a satellite dish and paid like $50-60 bucks a month to some pay tv company, I'd get KBS World and Arirang and that'd be about it.

This partially right... but mostly wrong. This is probably more accurate when T-ara was still a rookie group. Good examples of Soyeon being overshadowed can be found in shows like T-ara Dot Com and T-ara World. But in series that come out later like like Hello Baby, Dream Girls + variety shows, Soyeon became a huge leading personality. I understand where you guys are coming from, but after consuming so much T-ara content, my perception of Eunjung just died as Soyeon became more of a leader to me. Jiyeon is a whole other topic. Jiyeon is unbelievably cute and young, I wouldn't ever be surprised/mad/disappointed if Jiyeon was edited in to things more than anyone else.

Wat?
r u deaf brah? Choruses are like 50% of songs these days when they're just looped over and over and over and over and over and over. Add to the fact that she sings almost every chorus...

Usually, Soyeon gets half the chorus then other half goes to either Hyomin or Eunjung, so in that sense they're kinda equal. But then, Hyomin/Eunjung also usually have lines in verses/bridge/rap parts while Soyeon, not so much.
Example songs are: Falling U - Eunjung gets most of the chorus and gets the last parts or the song all to herself. Soyeon gets, like, 2 lines or something. Like the First Time - Hyomin get half the first verse, half the chorus, rap parts. Soyeon gets 2 lines in 2nd verse. Lies - Hyomin gets 1 line in each chorus, half the verses and rap parts. Soyeon gets 2 lines in each chorus.
