Anyway, at 4 PM, I was up against a Terran player whom I believe I can take on. However, I seem to have some issues with my laptop that cause my game's framerate to skip a couple of seconds, so I was unable to react properly. The moment my opponent made the counter-attack, I was practically powerless to do anything. I was slightly pissed but nothing like a quick sip of cola to calm me down.
This evening, after watching Artosis' stream for a bit, I decided to continue laddering. First match was on Scrap Station, which much to my surprise, my Protoss opponent was AFK. I am sort of noticing that there are AFK players are sort of common in Bronze. On my next match, my opponent quit the moment the match began. I thought it was my lucky day, and I got the 5 Quick Match achievement to boot. Though that "winning streak" was coming to an end when I got cheesed by an opponent in Scrap Station by Spine Crawlers. It was a ZvZ, a matchup I rarely encounter and if I do, I always lose. It was a good laugh, no doubt. XD
After a brief rest, I was up against a Terran player, whom I knew right away was a complete newbie because he/she does not know what GLHF even means. Not that I am insulting him/her or anything, but still, that kind of reaction can sometimes translate to: "This is my first time, go easy on me". As I attempted to harass him/her with Mutas twice, I notice that he/she has not made a Starport to make Vikings nor used his/her factory to make Thors. Instead, all he/she had to counter my air attacks are missile turrets and marines. Still, I took no chance and decided to regroup til I got enough to make more Mutas and begin making Brood Lords while giving them the necessary upgrades after my Greater Spire is finished. And thus, I was finally able to take down my opponent's base. Though I noticed that he/she does not go GG and surrender. Instead, he/she thought of making another command center, which I took down to end the game. Is it me, or do most Bronze players do that. I mean, when I am sure that I am going to lose or whenever the conditions of play seem way too inconvenient (i.e, my mouse won't work and I have to resort to using a touchpad)
Still, a win is a win and I hope I could go for more variety with what kind of units shall I make. I highly doubt sticking to mutas and brood lords will ensure me victory everytime. I think if I reach the Top 20, I think I might try adding some Ultralisks to the mix and see how it turns out.
