I just finished playing a bit of SC2 against a Terran opponent. Who at first I thought was gonna be a real toughie. He managed to hold off my Roach push at the cost of a supply depot getting destroyed. I could have taken out the wall though since the only resistance he has are a few marines and reapers. I imagined he was going to harass me with those and with the Roaches, I imagined he would be quit that tactic after the push.
A few minutes later, after I made 4 Mutalisks, I noticed he still intends on harassing me with two reapers. So I took them out just in case. Afterwards, I noticed a couple of Banshees going up against my base and I almost thought I would have no choice but to go GG this game. Thankfully, I remembered to get me an Overseer just in case. It was then, I thought I would check up on my opponent with those Mutas to see what he's been up to. And I noticed that it's been 10 minutes or so and he has not made an expansion nor made more SCVs. Least he has plenty of MULEs to keep the production going. And once again, my Mutas were taken down by a few marines and a single viking. I need to micro a bit more since that's possibly my major weakness.
Five minutes have passed and I thought I should get a larger group of Mutas to take down his economy with some Corruptors to protect me in case he has amassed a lot of Vikings. I checked out his natural expansion and still no Command Center. After I got there, I noticed a golden opportunity. He decided to go all in with vikings, marines and marauders. Taking this chance, I morphed my Corruptors into Brood Lords right away and proceeded with taking down his base entirely. The end of the match became a base race more or less. Though while I only have two queens, and a few Spore and Spine crawlers for defense, I was still at an advantage since I expanded.
I took down his Command Center first along with all the workers and I noticed that he did not react to my attacks on his base and just kept pressing on hoping to take down my base before I do. He would have taken down my Mutas and Brood Lords with his Vikings or to help the ground troops take down my base faster on Assault Mode.
In the end, I clear out his base ensuring my victory. He never even went GG like what usual players do if they can't win. Then again, he is as new to the game as I am.
Playing this match made me appreciate playing as Zerg all the more especially the Brood Lord Mutalisk mix as they are powerful as hell. I adjusted to this race a bit faster than usual, though I still need to make my Queen puke out larva more often as I tend to forget to do so whenever I attack or whenever I make an expansion. Hopefully as I keep on playing, it will all come down to me naturally.
Alrighty, that's all I gotta write on this blog. See ya guys and GLHF. I still got a Day 9 Daily to watch. I always miss those streams as I always wake up at 12 Noon. They usually stream at about 9-10 AM where I live
