I used to be a Zerg QQer. I thought that Zerg was the only respectable race to play, and for a while I guess they were - as such, I played Zerg. The other races were in my opinion much easier than Zerg. However, now that Terran is no longer so imbalanced, I've changed my mind completely.
This thread is about the awesome potential of the Terran race. It's almost WarCraft 3-esque, if you look at the insane things Human players like Th000 do in that game - that's the vibe I'm getting from Terran. They have units that are really cool and that can win games, but you don't often see them because they are expensive (they cost a lot of gas) and don't add anything "straight up".
Ravens have PDD, which is totally baller. But again, you can't just rush ravens - you have to get them at the right time, when you have enough other units so that you can spare the gas.
Ghosts - am I the only one who can see their potential TvZ? They can snipe infestors, making them a hard counter to infestors. Snipe has longer range than fungal growth as far as I know. And the best part - you can snipe the overseers!!!
I was watching ThorZaiN vs MC, and the way he just went marauder ghost showed some exemplar decision making. Because of all the ghosts, he wouldn't be able to afford as many vikings, tanks, or medivacs. However, predicted that he would be able to force a fight before P reached critical mass or got templars, so he attacked with just marauders and ghosts, taking down 15+ stalkers, 7+ immortals, and 3 colossi.
So to conclude, I want to apologize for bashing on Terran post 1.03. In fact, Terran is my favorite race, even though I now play Zerg since I don't want to re learn the game. I've been smurfing as Terran on a lower ranked account, and I've found that they're actually respectable and challenging in some areas that Zerg are not. It's like in BW: I learned P but then realized I like Z the most. I think they take the best mechanics and multitasking, and have the highest micro potential. And lastly, players who use ghosts and ravens are BALLER! Rare an d difficult to use units are so epic!
TL:DR. I'm really glad Terrans potential is showing now with gas heavy, hard to use, and rarely seen units like Ravens and Ghosts that can turn the tide of battle if used correctly. I was a Zerg QQer but now Terran has my respect. Terran, welcome to the cool club! =) + Show Spoiler + Edit: So sorry for putting this in SC2 general. I should have known it should be in blogs. Sorry!

so many people talk about op this or imba that. But in reality, there is so much that goes underused in sc2 its crazy.
if zerg wants to win more against terran, they need their builds to be more refined. Terrans have a ton of builds that are refined by their players. zerg can easily counter everything terran has, but they can't just expect to run in with a bunch of lings and expect to win, and when they lose, its imba.
sa,e ges for toss, toss had some amazing units, and zerg just needs to figure out how to counter them more. stuff like infestors are way underused considering that they eat protoss up.

And now reread the op and pretend it was written by idra

He used to be Terran in BW, and would QQ the same way... As good as he is, he isn't bonjwa just because all his Imba rant keeps him from improving at the fastest speed imo.

I read this title expecting something good. Instead I got " I once played this race and thought it was hard and the other race was op. So I switched to op race, and now op race is hard"
Terrans potential has been around forever, and the only way I honestly see terrans lose games is when they don't abuse their race. So goodluck on your new race, every unit in the T arsenal is amazing and has the potential to end the game, the race is ridiculous. It's a shame people are only realizing it so late.

I feel dirty after reading it like that.

Just for clarity, snipe is range 10 and fungal is range 9, but fungal has a radius of 2 bringing it to a max range of 11. Your choice on deciding who has longer range
But good on you for seeing the other side of things. :D It's so easy to get caught up in how "weak" your own race is and how "strong" other races are without looking at the game from the other perspective. If you wanna get better at 1v1, I recommend you play some 4v4s as random to see what other races love and fear ^^.

Uh, I haven't switched races. I started as Protoss in early beta, switched to T cause P was really op and lame (4 gate all game every game). Terran turned out to be pretty broken, and as a result, lame and boring and shallow, so I switched to the only deep race at the time - Zerg. So I picked Zerg very early and have stuck with them. However, with the removal of 5 rax reaper and some careful adjusting, Terran is now pretty cool. But have I switched races? No, Zerg is still my main.
Can you really blame me for not realizing the potential of Terran when the optimal way to play was reapers and maruder balls with stim?
