Inca isn't that great, but still way better than HuK and Rain, so it's only fair he gets out of that group.

Huk is a decent player, but a bit overrated I might say. Just look at the American tournaments he competes in, he loses consistently in the early rounds. Hes not on the level of other big name protosses such as white-ra or naniwa. These guys actually have a chance with less experience in Korea. All I see is Huk getting shoved down to code A.
|
Hmm HuK 0-2, places last in his group. Sorry, but I can't say I'm surprised...
|
HuK went to korea with so much anticapation and hasnt delivered or looked close to delivering.
|
Not trying to offend any HuK fans for calling him overrated, but Huk seems to be a player whose fame+hype is greater than his skill level.
HuK might get a chance in up/downs if he faced a Zerg, I however don't see him beating MMA / MVP
|
Can't say I'm suprised by HuKs results, well cause one its July this could be his tournament easily and PvP is so volatile...
If HuK had a group full of Terrans or Zergs that arn't super gosu champions he could have made it out.
|
Gahhhh HUK!! you can't go to code A
|
His fame and hype are because of his skill level... give the kid a break he's in a completely different world than he's used to. He's also dealing with relatively new found efame, which I'm sure is great, but you can't tell me that isn't gonna be a distraction. I'd almost bet his head isn't in the right place right now. All this stuffs gotta take some time to get used to. That being said, even I am disappointed with some decisions that were made in that game. I can kinda understand where he was coming from. I would have gotten a little frustrated over July's ploy of moving back and forth too, but I'm not a top level player. A little bit of patience could have won you that game bud. I'm sure you know that though. Ain't mad at ya brah.. just sucks man. I was hoping to see you whoop some Korean ass! No offense to the koreans <3

huk! nooo! he ran into some tough match-ups. inca killer pvp. and july. best of luck in up/down. fight for us whities!

Err, you could make that excuse but he's not the only foreigner in Korea. And he deals with his newfound efame by going around and saying he is the best player at tournaments, top 3 control, etc etc. That is not a smart idea. If anything, his hype was caused by himself.

It's obvious what is happening. All the picks of Jiyeon and Eunjung advanced, and Qri = bad luck! Jinro and HuK just didn't have the right girl cheering for them.
Eunjung hwaiting!
Trivia: Jiyeon and Eunjung are also the only girls on T-ara with dedicated English Wikipedia pages because of their accomplishments.

Wow just saw the tester picture...so sad =[

What hype? 75% of the talk about HuK in this thread is anti-hype. Sorry if Team Liquid hypes their own player though.
|
HuK is an amazing player but I feel like he isn't Code S material. Best bet -- going deep in Code A.
|
I don't know how much this has been talked about already (going through 120 pages would be a bit rediculous) but this means that an Up and Down group could be Jinro/HuK/Code A person....

aw man Huk didnt make i tthrough. Makes me sad

He's skilled in the Beta but being famous in Beta means nothing. MVP was still playing BW during the BETA but now he dominiates the Korea SC2 scene within months. Maka was supposed to be the best Terran during the BETA and now he's completely gone from Code A.
Hyping foreigners is also one of the thing the community does. Tastosis never misses the opportunity to use the term "outclassed" whenever a foreigner beats a Korean in a bo1. I know the "Korean owns at SC" stereotype can be tiring but it's the truth not because of genes nor nationality but the hardwork they put into that game. I remember how the Polish fanboys screwed up the Gosubets by betting Draco during his match vs Iloveoov in WCG 2006 and Draco had like 78% of the bets and ended up losing. So fame can be fueled by foreigner bias.

Damnit.. I wish July got 2nd in the grp lol, now 4 zergs are in the same side of the bracket
|
HuK: i had a bad feeling this would happen, inca (pvp) and july (all matchups) are beasts so tough group but if inca force fielded his ramp a half second slower then huk wouldve gotten his 2 dts in the base with the observer half way across the map, maybe then he would've won
July: godly.. holds off hellion/marauder all in w only lings/queen/spine
TesteR: y u no play standard pvp ever!?

Inca isn't that great, but still way better than HuK and Rain, so it's only fair he gets out of that group. I'm not sure about this. In my opinion, Inca is better than huk in PvP (obviously) but huk vZ and VT is way better. If we invert huk and inca in this group, huk goes to the ro16 imo, and without the needs of a miraculous come back.
About Huk, he was loved by everyone some months ago. Then he said the infamous "top 3 control" (and when he said this, (like 4 months ago ? More ?) I wasn't far to agree, he was playing very, very good at the time). Then his results began to slip, then it became hype to hate him for no really good reason. I'm neutral toward huk, no love and no hate, but the hate is a typical bandwagon case (fueled by some bad interviews PR wise, again the top 3 control).
