I sympathize with you guys trying to deal with customs at the airport in Istanbul. I flew through there a few years ago and had similar problems. I had a 3 hour layover with some German colleagues, and we all wanted to go out and have a kebab or something and just tool around Istanbul for a bit. The Germans could go through customs just fine and dandy, but they wanted me (the American) to buy a $30 Visa. For two hours in Turkey? Are you fucking crazy? I pretty much told those customs officers to fuck themselves. Turkey has a pretty ugly history of political relations with the United States. Something about Reagan and airfields (access point to the Middle East)... don't really know the whole story. Wow hold on there, do you have any idea how are the citizens of Turkey are treated in customs of States, and how difficult it is to acquire a visa even after the needlessly harsh treatment. And you can bet that it wont end good for you if you tell the US customs staff to fuck themselves. I am sure a lot of turkish officials at the customs are assholes, and as Jinro already put, them and their attitudes were the only problem. But that doesn't imply any more things than that. That is not directly about the political relations you kinda mentioned, it is more about this undisclosed "treat the x country's citizens as our citizens are treated at x" thing in customs. Especially the retarded assholes amongst the turkish customs officials can only be happy to proceed the way their counterparts at the US do. "Turkey has a pretty ugly history of political relations with the United States. Something about Reagan and airfields (access point to the Middle East)... don't really know the whole story." You can talk about a story that even you mention that you don't know about? that is neat. Turkey has been one of the founding countries of NATO, it was a member before Western Germany or Spain, There has even been a Turkish Deputy Secretary General for NATO. Peace-out. The best part about this side discussion is that HuK is indeed, Canadian. Racial profiling is ALWAYS bad, not just when American's do it. Also since many Liquid guys seem to be reading this it's as good a place as any: good luck in all your upcoming matches guys, recent struggles be damned we know you guys can perform! Foreign GSL champion =]]]
Maybe country profiling is a better choice of word instead of racial (Turks are originally from central asia and have no connection whatsoever to arabs racially, if that is what you meant by racial profiling) I agree that profiling is always bad, that is what I tried to tell, I am sorry if that is not clear.

Ya I get that it's nationality profiling, but because people are so intermingled racially now, you can't tell the difference between so many different races, so attempting to profile a nationality ends up in broader racial profiling(see: every middle eastern person, or back in ww2, every asian person, or every eastern european during the cold war, so many examples).
I didn't mean that you were malicious in your description, just that it's funny that the whole thing (assumedly) stems from HuK looking American, but he's not! Anyhow, didn't mean it to start an argument or anything(plenty of other politically charged threads to discuss it in).

The TeamLiquid logo on that Jumbo is Photoshoped, right?
(For anyone who wonders, there is an actual SC2 Korean Jumbo, I saw it in Chichago last July and it is beyond amazing!)

I love these updates on the team. Do any other Starcraft teams do this kind of self-promotion? I'd love to read about them in a concise, newsletter fashion like this but I haven't seemed to have found something comparable.

What the fuck kind of country doesn't take their own currency?
Yeah wtf? I feel bad man, those airports sound terrible.

"What the f**k kind of country doesn't take their own currency?" lol
Feel sorry for that painful flight, it sounds like a real nightmare. And Jinro, Huk fighting!!!

It said in the article "You are hearing about Dario withdrawing 8 days in advance not because we waited that long, but because EPS used this time to look for a solution." So nothing on TLO or TL's side that was wrong there.

TLO... he belongs to the world!
He's the first SC2 genius... I think few would question that.
Ask Boxer.
