Just finished watching Pokemon: The Movie 2000 (Power of one), the one where lugia comes out. While watching the movie there's a few scenes where it shows the ceiling of the collector's airship. I don't know but I was just curious who the painter was and if the painting had a name or anything. If anyone here who is good with art history could identify the artist/paintings name I would be thankful.
This is the only picture I could find of it through google. The picture in the back. Been looking around google for awhile to see if anyone had an idea but can't seem to find anything.
If anyone wants to hear something funny me: yo harem how do you create a blog on tl?
harem: go to blogs up top and click on it by forum
lol

ughhhh yea... I know it...well I have seen it at least.. its pretty famous, let me look around and see if I have a slide of it in some notes or something.

The thing in the back? I don't think it's one of the iconic pieces, but if it's a real piece, I'd say it was Italian baroque maybe?
|
Yeah the thing in the back. Sorry for the bad picture though. The reason why I think its an actual piece is because it seems a bit overboard to add unless it was something famous.

I'm in my third year of art history and I think that's lawrence 3 from the pokemon movie
|
I know that. I'm curious to know the name of the artist/painting in the back of him.

Shame ils, after being here for 7 years you still dont know how to make a blog! Cant help you with art history, unless its architecture related. D:

fuck i should know this :\ i have an ap exam in 2 weeks lol it looks like, too dark for baroque and anything before but the angels aren't very romantic neoclassic maybe O_O.

From the style, it looks like either Michelangelo or Raphael. The content is either an apotheosis or last judgement. If it's just a part of the painting, it makes it much harder to find. I looked at Michelangelo's Last Judgement, but there didn't seem to be that frame.

i'm almost 100% sure it isn't Mikey B's style. The anatomy looks wonky here compared to his usual stuff I've seen.

If those are female angels, they look very masculine, which is Michelangelo's specialty. I don't think he painted any cherubs though, which is why I thought it was Raphael.
