I am thinking about purchasing MLG HQ for $10 for these reasons:
# 4 HQ streams, 3 days of coverage # Full Quality, low-compression video # DVR - rewind and replay highlights
And I have a quick question about the DVR. I know I won't be sitting in front of my computer for 30+ hours the whole time watching MLG this weekend. But there are matches that I probably don't want to miss. So my question is 'Do I have to leave the stream open on my computer the whole weekend to be able to see the matches on DVR that already happened or will there be links for HQ members to see the previous matches?'
If anyone has any idea, let me know. Time is ticking.

No, you don't have too. You can open the stream at anytime and rewind.

So, for instance i can rewind the stream on Sunday to see the matches on Friday?

no, I believe you can only rewind for 1 hour (think Sundance mentioned it somewhere)

Nope rewind only works for 1 hour. Not 48 hours.

You will probably be able to watch VODs for that.

so, if I started the stream, and the match I wanted to see happened 2 hours ago, they are forever gone, right?

Speak for yourself.

Are there going to be VODs for the SC2 games?

That would be ridiculous to rewind and require too much resources to run it.

i have a question in line with this will tgere be vods and will they be free? if not i may need to run a screen cap program all weekend so i can record it like a vcr.

If the match you missed happened two hours previous, then no.. You would not be able to rewind to it. However, MLG will release the VODs to the games so you can always look at it there

How long does it take for them release the vods like later that day, next day, or etc? Also that would not be HD quality even for HQ members, right?

I do not know the exact time line for how fast they get the games up, but I would say by the end of that day/beginning of the next they would all be uploaded. Also, from my understanding only paying members get access to the HQ VODs.

But buying the HQ pass means I get VOD access right? If so I'm definitely buying.
edit - bah post above me, had my post window open too long -_-

10$ for a HQ pass sounds reasonable for such an awesome tournament, the venue looks sick and the player list looks even sicker. Going to be some great games this weekend!

Wouldn't this be better posted on the MLG boards or in #mlg?
