If I have to hear that I'm "xenophobic" or "sexist" one more time just because I believe that the clarity of the English spoken on a paid English stream is important, I'll have to shoot somebody. Just because they're controversial words doesn't make them a good argument.
I'm not going to rant like the jackass who invaded her fan club just to hate on her, but she just doesn't seem to be a good fit for the job. It's got nothing to do with gender, and nothing to do with personal life, or whatever else the white knights are harping on about these days.
Bluntly, her analysis was lacking or off entirely, and she didn't connect well with her co-casters very often. I can understand her English pretty easily, to be honest, but that doesn't mean I didn't cringe every now and again at her pronunciation.
Some of these things can be fixed for sure. I don't doubt that if she works hard she'll improve, but the most obvious thing to me right now is that she's just not right for the job at GOM. It's a business, and she just doesn't provide what many people think are the basic requirements.
Good luck to her. I think she'll need it, considering the shit-storm that both sides of this community keep stirring up.
Jhon is such a baller, did you see that epic respond of his to the community.
I don't want to be negative, but I dont like Kelly very much, it is my opinion that she needs to improve her VOICE, her english it's pretty decent, she just need some practice.
The thing that I find most rough to ingest its here really high pitched tone.
I want a girl with a mellow and sexy voice for my SC2 casts please.

why can't they find one of them import models to cast for us? Heaven for the GOM subscribers
why do we feel sorry for her ? she's an adult and she at some point in life will have to take criticism when doing her job. By accepting this job, she should be ready to get evaluation on her casting ability which including her voice. Criticism is good to see what you can and can't do. I know it's hard to accept the fact that you suck at something you have been working so hard for but it's life, wipe it and move on. Either fix it or drop it. I can't pat on her back and said "It's gonna be ok" when I think she's not suitable to do the job.
Why do you blame complainers for her leaving ? it's her problems. She didn't make people happy (or to some people including me that code A is unwatchable with her accent) so we will have to voice. It's our right, we pay and we demand. Hell, even without paying, we totally have our right to express our opinion. But in the end, it's her problem.
I hope she comes back. Although I wasn't a huge fan at first she definitely improved a lot as the casts went on. Casting in itself isn't as easy as it look and its even harder to do it in another language. Best of luck to her in her future endeavors and good luck to all upcoming candidates as well.

We do NOT have the right to send her death threats or criticize her worth as a human being.
Constructive criticism yes - but this "god-given" right of the paying customer only goes that far.

I have to agree. This has nothing to do with her, her accent isn't really her fault (and she definitely is trying to be a good caster). GOM should have realized that having her cast would create community backlash :/
Maybe it's because I hear a lot of accents where i'm from, but I never had any trouble at all with her accent. I didn't watch the most recent Code A but if she was trying to make Doa look bad like I've heard, then I... I don't know.
In the end though, nothing is final yet, so we shouldn't say too much now.

Yeah I fully agree. Seeing people talk about racism and sexism was ridiculous. Plain and simple, her commentary was lacking. If you have any experience watching commentated games you'd be aware of this. I'm paying to watch these gom games, and as a paying customer I deserve at least SOMEWHAT competent commentary. If I was watching gom games for free, then I wouldn't be so bothered by her commentary.
The part about racism against asians in particular was the most ridiculous considering probably 95% of people participating in gom (players, casters, etc.) are asian. Being asian has never been "an issue" in the starcraft community...get real people.
So she didn't make the cut. This is reality. Obviously GOMTV has other casters they would like to test and see what happens. GL kelly on your next job. Take some linguistic classes, English as a second language is beyond difficult.
To be honest, I had a much harder time with SuperDanielMan's accent most of the time. But SuperDanielMan didn't have Kelly's propensity to pitch her voice up an octave and speak at 500 unintelligible when he got excited.
She's a great caster. Seeing the LR threads while she's casting is insane. People saying they hate her every time she makes a mistake or for some reason they can't understand her. Tasteless and Artosis make mistakes all the time. I think the backlash was largely bandwagoning and the fact that people find change easy to object to. There have been things about TL that have pissed me off in the past, but I have never been disappointed with this community before.
The wording implies that she might come back, but citing the community reaction as a major factor in employment makes it seem unlikely. I have watched SC2 more frequently since this code A started than I have since the game was released. You will be missed Kelly!

It is not another language. English is as bascially used for everything in Singapore, sure some of us speak in our mother tongues when amongst our own communities but her standard of English is definitely not a reflection of how the average Singaporean of her age speaks. Our older generation's standard of english is definitely a lot worse but if you compare her pronounication with anyone that is 20+ and younger it is actually quite disgraveful.
For a reference, this is what the average young Singaporean speaks like:
Wow, you guys overreact a LOT. This has been known FOR A LONG TIME. She said in her Moonglade interview that she was leaving at the end of the 5th season. Moletrap said he was coming after the 5th season. It was obvious that GOM is just trying out new casters to see who has the bet fit. Kelly got her chance; if she gets the most support over the other Code A casters, she'll be brought back.

I actually really liked SuperDanielMan, even though his accent was really strong, because his voice was pleasant to hear. I had a lot of problem listening to Kelly, not only because of her accent (I can deal with that), but because I really didnt liked her voice. And SuperDanielMan had a lot of knowledge of the game. Kelly had a lot less.
To sum it up, she is certainly not THAT bad, but I personnaly think that there are better casters.
