(Ok, I'm adding this to clear up some confusion.. I'm not "raging" or anything this blog series will basically be pet-peeves of my daily internet experience. In other words, it's for entertainment, not to be taken completely literal, sorry if that's a bit confusing before)
I hear people that don't know me state I'm a "wannabe" or "gangster" rapper...
Ok, firstly let's just start with the whole "wannabe" part. If that is referring to anyone who is not "mainstream" than I guess it would be accurate however to put it in terms of people on this site and this community it would be like calling any SC2 player that isn't famous a "wannabe" SC2 player.. It doesn't make any sense. What also doesn't make sense is to assume because I play a video game and would like to get better that I don't actually pursue music as a career or profitable hobby. Neither of things really fit into the first description that pisses me off... "Gangster" this is one of the most overused piece of shit words used by middle-class white kids (I'm white) to describe rappers. It's retarded, over used and it makes you look like an idiot. On top of that, once again, assuming something from no evidence. Basing my personal life of a SC2 song is hardly accurate and most likely misleading, however placing "gangster" on that combination seems to be the most ass backward thing you could possibly do.
Ok, I had to vent that for a second. I am completely aware that people love to troll and talk shit behind the presence of their keyboards. But it still makes a person wish sometimes you could run into one of these cowards in person and see just how many things they'd say. Unfortunately I see people like them everyday and real life. And not surprisingly nothing is ever said. Ever....
Episode 2 will be about youtube comments

The trolls are going to have a field day with this bro.
Never let it get to you.

Just a question, what do you rap about?
|
Yes, I figure they will.. doesn't matter just thought I'd put that out there...
To the what I rap about thing: I'm mostly metaphor and simile based. But the people I am talking about are the ones that say it about the sc2 songs (not mine in particular just all of them in general)

Rap is just one of those things that doesnt appeal to all people - and people who arent into it feel the need to look down upon those who are. Its similar to gaming or starcraft in general -- people dont freak out because they are considered a "nerd" or something because they frequent TL or play starcraft often. Its just a fact of life and I dont understand why you are so upset by people callling you "wannabe gangster" when they themselves arent "gangsters" or people who enjoy "rap" music. If a person who played FPS games said you sucked at starcraft would you even care?? Also the whole "I wish i could meet one of these guys in real life so i could see what they'd say" persona kind of thing is understood but it just fuels the fact that people think you are trying to represent yourself as some gangster.
All in all I like your work alot but you kind of seem like an idiot

So you don't rap about the streets, you rap about sc2?

Perhaps blogging about things that "piss" me off is idiotic. It's not like I am stewing over here lol. Just something I constantly see that usually upsets me.
And I wouldn't assume that the people saying it don't listen to rap. People have their own opinions on music which is fine, but it seems it's most often in rap that people throw the stereotypes around. You don't see that with the other genres as much (I'll say as much even though I've never personally seen it at all, I'm assuming it's there)

Joe Kim is a better rapper you wannabe! + Show Spoiler +
rofl but yea why do you care what people think or whatnot when they say you're a 'poser' or w/e? Just keep on doing what you're doing. If people don't like it then fuck them right? They're just wannabe's themselves. The only difference is that they're trying to put you down to make themselves feel better to compensate for their shitty self-confidence.

I listen to a shit-ton of rap, and I have to admit, you're a lot better than I thought you would be. Most of the time when I hear someone claim to be a rapper, I can't even finish one of their songs before I have to X out from embarrassment. But I'm on song number two from you.
So how old are you anyway?

What really pisses me off are these caps that people keep the sticker on.

Lol.. I do that on white hats because if you don't you get a dirt ring from where the sticker was removed...
And no, maybe I should have prefaced this with a (not to be taking completely serious comment) but it is annoying to see so many of these on so many threads related to rap music.
I'm 26.
(The youtube rant will be about people making comments about why people disliked a video.. I hate that too)

Give reasons for why you think he's an idiot or I'll consider you a dumbass who doesn't know when he should instead use words like 'naive' or 'oversensitive'.
