1) The scheduled start time was pulled back by an hour very recently which I imagine screwed a lot of people (1pm AEST became 12pm AEST) 2) It's a manually updated system of over 400 competitors, it takes forever for anything to be updated. It's hard to read mod annoucements on a channel where everyone's text is the exact same colour. 3) Because of 2, people are just randomly leaving because there's no way to know whether your reported result of a no-show or a win was recorded, when people are waiting more than playing they leave. Resulting in more no-shows. Solutions: 1) No idea what happened here. 2) Use a tournament system that automatically adjusts the brackets when players enter a result on a webpage. Doing things manually for a repetitive task is the reason we have programming languages Ah well, I'm sure it would smooth out once we're past the ro2.

I appreciate the feedback. From 1 minute after start time, we were receiving 50+ pms saying "my opponent isn't here".. It was a failure on our part to try to play a game within a time difference. We then had to create new brackets after a 320 man no show. Turning it into a 64 man tournament. We do apologise for the time zone confusion. At the same time, AFKing in chat doesn't help much either. All being said, managing the tournament has been a nightmare, the problem really with the original brackets was that the gap between the games being played was so huge that there was going to be someone in semi finals without playing a game. We have decided now that future tournaments will either be invite only based on 1) reptuation and 2) global ranking, or very small public tournaments. It is easy to criticise, but in the end of the day, 1 happy gamer does leave with 1k in their pocket. There are still some pretty good games in the tournament, with azz lzgamer, moonglade, edge, deth... capoch.. In the end, we learned alot from this, and will change the way things are done in the future.

Also we were unable ot launch a website of ours for our own bracket/reporting system. Probably should have waited until we have that set up before hosting a tournament. As I said before, it was a painful experience and lessons were learned. You have no idea how many time I have facepalmed myself.

The tourny was australian hosted? If anything it was an australian tournament that allowed north american participation... the time clearly said GMT.... RIDICULOUS complaint, rofl.

RIDICULOUS complaint, rofl. How is that a ridiculous complaint when all he asks for is US times (considering 1 - it's on the US server, 2 - the date on GMT was one day ahead of US, so americans thought 27th/28th but in reality it's 26th/27th in the US since it's 1 AM GMT. Would have helped to put US times in the tourney info - and it definitely wouldn't have hurt. (And if it's Australian hosted why not put aussie times up there too)
