I really doesn't understand why people like One Piece, so I won't comment on that one. Bleach is quite nice up until Soul Society arc ends, afterwards it becomes boring, repeatable, throws in too many dumb characters and becomes meaningless. Just to explain a single point which is important to me: Barely any characters die, especially no "good" ones, and there are extreme numbers of turnarounds in most fights. This leads to fights becoming boring, because the outcome of "good character dies" is almost impossible already. Even if a character is almost dead while the other one didn't recieve a single hit, there's still a chance of turnaround...
To me Naruto is the best ongoing manga there is (as I want to seperate long, ongoing series and short, limited stories). There is a huge variability of characters, each with a unique and deep background story. Especially Zabuza arc and Kisame's past seemed perfect to me. Although it's not a bloody realistic style it contains enough tragedy and deaths to avoid a childish impression and doesn't overdo the staging.

With one-piece it's just fun. Everything is just out of control fun and I really like that but in the end I don't really care about the characters in it. It's shallow, but really awesome. During the entire Marineford arc I couldn't once force me to care for Ace instead I spent it like a 6 year old going "MOAR POWWARS! HELL YEA!" I love OP but for me it's for fun.
I've always seen Bleach as the lesser of the three. Mainly because of the incredible dullness that is Kurosaki Ichigo, he is so freaking boring. His personality is wooden, his powers are unflexible and dull as hell. Everytime there is a major Ichigo battle I feel like not reading the manga untill it's over so I can speed through it. The sad part is that it has some really intresting side characters that I'm much more intressted in learning about making me cringe everytime it swaps back to Ichigo. Shooting black laser isn't an awesome power, and having a bankai that is bigger and faster waves is sooo damn boring. It had potential at first but at the moment I just feel like the main character is so damn weak that I don't feel like reading it. So you didn't feel anything for Nami during the Arlong arc, or anything for Robin at Ennies Lobby? Very very little. I didn't feel the manga gave me a good enough reason. Maybe I could have cared for Robin during the Enies Lobby, but the fact that Oda has no consistancy in how powerful his characters are pissed me off so bad at the time. Robin went from being able to take out the entire Straw hat crew to being pretty much useless in a matter of days. No manga has more consistent power levels than One Piece... That is a good thing... why? Does TL have a consistent power rank (level) of BW progamers? :/ If Effort (9) beats Fantasy (3), should Effort be 3? -.- "Consistent power levels" don't mean their power stays the same the entire series. Obviously people get stronger, and stuff in these series. But lets take Bleach for example, since thats what you have watched. In Soul Society, Ichigo defeated Kenpachi with his Shikai. And then he got a power up with his Bankai. And then he got another power up with his Hollow Form. And then he gets to Hueco Mundo, and is defeated by Nnotora or w/e his name was. Then Kenpachi shows up, and despite having been defeated by Ichigo before Ichigo got 2 major power ups, beats the shit out of the Espada using the same tricks and power he used way back. That doesn't make sense, and is an inconsistency in terms of both plot and power levels. Honestly, nothing you mention even has any inconsistency whatsoever. At least make a proper complaint first. Truly it seems incredibly whiney. Hes saying Ichigo beat zampatchi without bankai. When you get bankai you supposedly get 5x stronger(This is said in the manga) So ichigo also gains his hollow powers so lets just say hollow powers increase his power by x2? Ichigo Barely beats grimjoq who is number 6 While Zampachi Somehow Gets X10 stronger and beats number 5. It makes no fucking sense lol It does make sense. Though something about Bleach is there is not an EXPLICIT explanation for the result, most of the time. It would be like in OP if when + Show Spoiler + ace died to that admiral they did not explain the fire/lava part through dialogue and nothing was said, with ace just getting punched (I skipped ahead in OP -_- tho I still don't follow currently I read some of those parts) . Same with the explanations for every fight in Naruto. Bleach could do that too, but it is very lame, IMO. What? Okay, explain to me how someone who is 10 times weaker than Ichigo can beat someone stronger than Ichigo with sheer power? Please explain to me how it makes sense.
Your One Piece example doesn't work, because it has always been clear that the Admirals are stronger than Ace. It would be like Luffy beating Buggy, and then later on Kuma beats Luffy, and then Buggy comes in and legitimately beat Kuma. That would make absolutely no sense.

Eh, first describe something that actually happened -_- Jesus Christ... Okay maybe I can use numbers so you can understand something that I think should be simple. Note I'm just making up the numbers, to illustrate what I'm talking about.
Lets say Ichigo's power level is like, 10, when he fought Kenpachi. They were fairly evenly matched, so lets put Kepachi at a 10 as well.
Then Ichigo got his Bankai, which was said to increase their power by 5x. So now Ichigo's power is 50. Then he got his Hollow Power, which at least doubled his strength, putting Ichigo at 100.
Ichigo fights Grimjow, and beats him in a close fight, so we can say that Grimjow was 100 as well. Then we have Nnotora, who was stronger than Grimjow. Thus, Nnotora is somewhere above 100 in terms of power.
Then Kepachi shows up. Remember him? He was a 10 back in the day, equal to Ichigo before he got powered up. But he shows up, and beats someone with a power greater than 100? Since when does 10 > 100+? Please explain.

Most complaints are logically inconsistent (e.g., at one time complaining too much fighting, then immediately reversing to not enough fighting after a short break; simultaneously complaining it is too predictable, then complaining that things were nothing like expected). -___________________- On October 05 2010 07:52 SuperArc wrote:On October 05 2010 07:42 Hynda wrote: [quote] Very very little.
Lets cover all bases and say that he is equal with smiley man since he did have to use two hands to actually beat him which he didn't use against Ichigo.

Naruto started out as a really annoying kid but has grown so much over time. I had two points in the Naruto manga that made me feel "This is the better of the three". Asuma-incident and the Hinata-incident. The Asuma one really made me realise that I give a shit for the characters in the Manga and the Hinata one made me damn upset at the time, not just for the things that happened but the beatuiful way that it was portraid.
Your One Piece example doesn't work, because it has always been clear that the Admirals are stronger than Ace. It would be like Luffy beating Buggy, and then later on Kuma beats Luffy, and then Buggy comes in and legitimately beat Kuma. That would make absolutely no sense. I don't think he read the part where the admiral specifically said his lava beat Ace's fire. Everything in One Piece is very nicely explained, its just some seriously lack reading comprehension skills..

I read all three manga and watched all three animes in both sub and dub formats. My first exposure to the trio was actually the Dub version of One Piece on Saturday (or was it Sunday) cartoon. The 4kid dub was as dumb as fuck and I thought One Piece was a show for 8 year old with mental disabilities.
My next exposure was to Bleach manga, soon followed by the dub version of Naruto anime on the cartoon channel. Bleach was motherfucking badass from the very beginning that made me feel freaking pumped just flipping through the pages. Naruto's universe just grabbed me from the start. Soon, I started downloading both Bleach subbed anime and reading Naruto manga. I eventually finished all available anime episodes and manga chapters of the two series up to the time skip of Naruto and the beginning of the Arrancar arc of Bleach.
I honestly thought that Naruto and Bleach were the greatest series ever created.
Then, I unintentionally stumbled upon One Piece again, through the English version of Shonen Jump magazine that is circulating in North America. I started reading from chapter 154 of One Piece, the beginning of the Alabasta arc, the story of the sand kingdom.
I read the chapter, went home, start reading One Piece online. I completed the entire collection of 500+ chapters in one week, then restarted from chapter 1, and reread the entire thing all over again.
It was that good.
One Piece, it's a no brainer.
