My maple tree is turning colors today.
I live in Edmonton, and this city fucking blows in the winter time. I am serious, if you want a city that only does shit for 2 months of the year, its Edmonton - those two months is summer. I'm not designed for winter. I'm not one of those Saint Bernard type of guys with a huge gut and beard ready to chop limber, fuck no. I am a thin, hairless, tall awkward looking creature that puts rocks in his pockets on windy days. During the winter season, I would probably die if this was survival of the fitness.
I've decided this year, no matter what, I am going on vacation AWAY from Edmonton. I literally get depressed around December and January just because the season is sooooooo long. I am thinking South America or Thailand - somewhere warm ofc.
Anyone else sad that my maple leaves have changed color already?

Edmonton winters make me appreciate that I don't live in Siberia at least. I guess it's time to put some clothes on.

I'm so sad about winter. What a great summer I had. FYI to anyone in warmer areas, winter is 8-9 months in Canada. -_-

To be honest while some days winter is absolutely freezing (on those -40 or below windchill days), for the most part I find I've lived here (Calgary) long enough (all my life) to get used to the weather.
+ winters don't seem to be as harsh as they used to. When I was younger I remember constant snowing, always 2'+ of snow on the ground, etc etc. The past few winters have been pretty mild in comparison. :3

Oh wow 8-9 months of winter? Lets change places please! : O Only 3-5 months here, im so sad every time the snow starts to melt.

woo California... no seasons

I don't know if it's because I live in Southern Ontario but I don't mind the weather at all. Sure the winters have some bad days, but I love the snow and the winter means less bugs
Also Spring arrives in late March and it only starts to get wintery in like December, so it's bearable.
Edmonton is probably cold as fuck though
