Sounds like a command center landing, battles with the different unit sounds... you mention about players building certain buildings, clicking them for their own unique sound would help with the focus of the listener. I am also in agreement on the excitement thing. I view such an audio commentary as you do as something suitable for live casting. You're missing the point of audio commentaries, at least with this kind. It's not supposed to be like listening to a soccer game on the radio.

Comparing episodes 1 and 2 to episode 3 is the audio quality better or worse for you guys?

It sounds better to me, but I didn't think 1/2 were bad sound quality wise.

This is awesome, thanks a bunch for doing these. I enjoy the audio-replay format way more than the youtube commentary style that's gotten popular. You're a very good commentator as well and I'm looking forward to future episodes. Also I had no idea 14 hatch could stop reaper bunker rush so easily, that was pretty awesome by Check.

I don't think I am missing the point. The obvious comparison would be to listening a soccer game on the radio. But it's up to JP. And it seems from all the comments in this thread, that it works well, so I am not criticizing that.
edit: Just to burden you some, JP, some media formats support multiple audio streams ;-) muahaha. Gonna listen to ep3 now, and see about the sound quality
edit2: Listened to ep3 now. I can't hear much of a difference in sound quality. I listened alternating bits of ep2 and ep3. Maybe ep2 has some slight maxing out of the volume. Other feedback: In my mind, you formulate sentences very clearly and try to give it a narrative with variation and the like. I have the idea that this is not the way to go about it. If you mention that two Thors are left standing after battle (ep2 iirc) you don't need to mention their exact health levels. If you mention 'very low on health' or 'in the red' or healthy, it is 'a lot' easier/faster to interpret which makes listening less of a chore. The action is fast and conveying this in short snappy messages I think gives a much easier read on the situation by the listener. Saying 'three marines left standing', 'player x seems to go for a fungal growth'. Plenty of things you say do help read the situation. Status of tech development, bases being mined out. Some of the talk is your opinion on how players should play or things you expect when it's missing like upgrades. That doesn't contribute anything for a listener. hmm reading/listening back the criticism perhaps isn't valid in some points but take from it what you can (:

Ahh it's so enjoyable to have someone commentating games calmly (apart from the Day9 Dailies*).
Was watching the 3rd episode and kinda felt like I was out of sync at the beginning even though I didn't really do anything. Had to catch up with you which was a bit of a trouble. But I guess that problem lay on my end as none else experienced that ;P
The game itself was... well perhaps decent. The Zerg played rather bad in my opinion. I didn't see a single benefit from the Spine Crawler. Not a single.

Great job JP keep it up your putting alot of effort into improving so you've got my respect.

Throwing in another audio channel with in-game sound would be kind of a chore, especially because I'm doing this because of how quick and easy it is to get episodes out :x
Perhaps down the line!

Episode 3 sounds much better in terms of audio quality.
Not a big deal, but somehow you seem to get like 1 or 2 seconds ahead while I'm watching the replay, not sure how that happens but it's not a big deal since I just fast forward a second.
Either way, loving these audio commentaries, thanks a lot for the time/effort put into it.

Personally I enjoy these much more than streamed commentaries, because you can control the camera yourself and focus on details while still being aware of general game status because of commentary.
Ep. 3 had great sound quality, but 1 or 2 weren't bad either. Keep up good work JP!

Niceeeeee... keep the good job man...
Brazilian fan here......

Keep these comming, Sc2 is missing audio commentaries, thumbs up yo.

PvP on LT, cute game.
EP4: RRU - EP4 - EG.Inka vs Katari

Way more interactive than watching vods/streams. There is a need for both. Sometime you just want to relax and watch a game, then video is great (or you're at work and can't really start SC2 ). Sometimes you want to be a bit more engaged and then this is the way to go. Good commentaries, keep up the good work!

This is really cool. I like this more than watching vods.

Awesome work! I love these! Fantastic idea and keep 'em coming!

One problem, one glaring problem- you didn't know who JF is!!
Kinda jks, but part of being a good commentator is throughly knowing who the players are before hand. Thanks for these!
