Okay so I ordered my SC2 for overnight mail yay it'll arrive in the morning right?
I was so happy I got a good price on SC2 whee!
So then comes the big day I go to bed get up in the morning all excited the sun is shining Starcraft 2 is out and shortly I'll be a like a little kid in a candy shop as my copy will arrive and much glee will be had.
Glee looks like this... really isn't it cute?
So I began the long and impatient wait for my package to arrive being the diligent customer I am I went to my email to find the tracking number! I'm like okay I'm going to find out exactly when it will arrive and much more glee will be had. And I see this...
Wait it's already out for delivery MORE GLEE!
And then I waited... and waited... and waited... until I found this little gem on the same page
...... ........... ................ ......................
Then I realized there's only one answer, the UPS guy knows it's starcraft 2, my UPS man lives 2 doors down from me and I know the guy. HE BE TROLLIN ME driving around town all day with the package in the back of his truck knowing the longer he drives around with it in the back the crazier I get....
So please Jeff, mr UPS man give me my SC2 now :[
edit: for reference it's now 4:08 almost 9 hours after they listed it as out for delivery :[

Incidentally I picked my copy of SC2 up at Gamestop during their midnight release and after tax the total was $65..

Same thing for me except it actually says that it arrived in Seattle, then departs from Seattle then arrive in Seattle, then depart again. (I live in Seattle)

Fuck I shoulda just posted my own sob story here instead of making my own blog thread.... yours has pictures and everythang.

I usually sleep around 2200/10PM and wake up around 0600/6AM. However, last night was the semifinals and finals of Day9's King of the Beta tourney so I stayed up to watch that. Shoot me for not loading up on caffeine but I fell asleep in the middle of the second aired series. Thus, I didn't even get to see the (supposedly) epic finals.
Now, I pre-ordered SC2 from Futureshop way back in April to get a beta-key. July 27 (today) comes around and I wake up at 9AM eagerly awaiting the postman. Well turns out they had attempted a delivery around 730AM-800AM but no one was awake to receive the package. Now I have to pick it up at the post office but I can only do so TOMORROW after 1PM, that's 24 hours from now.
If I had just slept at my normal time I wouldn't be writing this blog entry as I'd be playing the SC2.
TLDR: slept late woke up late can't pick up SC2 until tomorrow 1PM didn't even get to see the epic finals (vods arent even up yet)
Great tourney though.
I know I'm not the only one that can't play SC2 right now (with others having work and other obligations), but hey this is a blog FEEL MY PAIN. Feel free to tell me to suck it up though I won't mind.
Now I am contemplating whether to just go out and buy SC2 today, pick up my pre-ordered copy tomorrow and eventually sell/gift it. What sayeth Team Liquid members?

I absolutely loathe the feeling you get when the fate of your precious package rests in the hands of a UPS man. It is such an utterly helpless feeling.
|
I bet the UPS man is playing your copy right now. Could be worse you could have a derailment delay.
|
Im so lucky I bought mine from Amazon not Gamestop.
|
|
10 hours later it's finally here T.T
|
Hahaha, that UPS truck picture is classic. I spent the extra 11.00 and got a digital copy so I didn't have to refresh the tracking information every 10 minutes.
Also, great job casting during the countdown party!

I thought I could get away with cheap... but my order just shipped this morning. I had a few seconds of happiness when a package arrived, but it wasn't SC2 -.-;
|
Yeah, I'll never order a game that I want to play on launch day again if it's shipped through UPS. I ordered Burning Crusade and paid the extra for overnight shipping with UPS a few years back. My friend paid for standard shipping, got his copy early in the morning, and I didn't get my copy until 6:30. I was so pissed. Learned my lesson and bought a CD key for WotLK from a gold seller. Booted it up at 9PM pacific, already installed.
|
This is exactly normal... Still pretty shitty though >
|
don't you guys know when the UPS truck typically makes it to your block?
I buy a lot of shit online, and they would always arrive around the same time.
|
That is why I follow DTA, don't trust anyone. No way was I relying on someone else bringing me a copy of SC2.
