Watching vods over youtube, ustream or similar is a real pain for the few fans around my neck of the woods. So downloading torrents is really the best solution to watching proleague or SC2 tournaments. Proleague's not a problem...SC2 torrents seem to be harder to find.

Since internet is insanely expensive here, I download whatever I can and share it. Would be nice to torrent TLI EU and US or HDH's tourney or the numerous others around.

Not too sure what the reason behind only youtube or streaming tourneys are? If you can enlighten me, I would appreciate it. I suspect it has to do with the advertising income potential on the streams?

It seems that you're saying you prefer torrents over streaming because you can download it only once, and then share it to save bandwidth. In that case, you can download youtube videos too.

That depends. Youtube doesn't support download resuming so if his internet is unreliable it could be very difficult to download from there. He might need to spread the downloading of a single vod over several periods of downloading and idle time which bittorrent supports.

Otherwise they are very easy to get with firefox extensions

The other solution would be to post the vods on dvds.

If it where a tourney like TLS (SC2 version) I would be willing to pay someone for DVD! It will be faster than downloading it :D In fact, 100+ Day[9].Daily's would be something I would consider getting posted.

I do record youtube using a FF add-on, but since I am on the move between work and home - I have to switch internet connections which would stop the dl. It's a pain to have to download parts of a game (youtube)...this is a problem even if you have good internet. So I was wondering why tournies like HDH, TLI and Day9 streams for one, do not make torrents available?

In HDH's case I know hd and husky are trying to earn youtube partnerships so obviously they want as many views on thier youtube channels as possible.
As for TL events I guess it's because it hasn't occured to them that it is difficult for some to dl via youtube since it is the single most stable video site in the western world.

You should pm Zatic, T.O.P and Solinren to see if they can help you since they are the most fequent torrent submitters and clearly have the bandwidth to initial seed. I'd like to help you out but my internet is only intermitedly capable of seeding.

100 day9 dailys would take about 7 dvds which is about 1kg. That would cost around $20aud by seamail or $40aud by airmail for me to post (I haven't dled them all yet). I'm guessing it would be cheaper for you to find someone in europe if you want to persue that option.

I have most of those. When Kwark makes the torrent, I and anyone else who wants to help can just dl the torrent, rename the files we alreay have to match the torrent so it will hash them then help seed. Instruct your client not to dl any vods you don't already have so you don't waste the swarm's bandwidth if you can get them from youtube/ustream yourself.
