Thanks for pointing it out. I was about to be confused.

The beta will be out when it will be out. Having huge expectation won't change the date of its release.

Wouldn't someone be able to get their hands on the beta and crack it for the public?

Creating a bnet2 emulator is going to be a pain in the ass and there's zero chance you're getting in on the official one with a cracked version of the game.
Honestly it'd probably take long enough for the game to enter the market, unless the bad guys have a R1CH clone on their side.
While unlikely it'd be great if the people who do not get in could play a single player demo version at least, so the servers wouldn't get cooked but we could still enjoy the game and report bugs.

Yes it will happen guaranteed but not like the other guy above me is saying. What I think will happen is it will get cracked but instead of a bnet2 emulator they will make a "lan" type of thing like hamachi or something so that you can play the game just not play on the official servers. I would be surprised if something similar to what I said doesn't happen.

And dont forget the cracked beta would be a nightmare to update :|

WC3 used the same BNET as the older games so they already had some base on what to build on.

Lets not forget last year before summer they did confirn that beta will have skirmish mode. That was soo long ago plans may be changed but if beta is shipped with skirmish we will likely be playing that mode offline in day or two after beta gets in hands to Blizzcon winners thanks to frendly neighborhood hackers.

when exactly does this happen?

I was adding on to Blade's post (sorry, should have quoted). I don't think they'll get fast updates if their only way to play is some LAN crack On February 11 2010 04:12 Polygamy wrote: when exactly does this happen? 1:30 PST

I invest my heart into Blizzard. Is that enough to be told when beta will be today <3?

There's probably still a decent chance of a cut and paste PR response about a Q2 release and beta "soon," but even that won't get me down. Unless they announce a delay today we're very close to beta.
