It might help applicants decide how much benefit they will receive from your help. Obviously the lower ranked (d-c+) will receive a lot more help just because there are more things to learn. Not to say B-A range can't be helped by you. Good advice.. I will ask them to include that from now on.

Nobody sits with someone for 2 hours on ventrilo and works through every mu, bo, map and timing etc.. day[9] actually charged one of my students MORE money (ironically) for less than what I do. Is he wrong to do that? No, I am just disproving your example. And no it isn't "easy to improve on your own." If that were the case I wouldn't have had over 30 sessions already (in 3 weeks). People who pay for coaching aren't "suckers" they are ambitious. I don't really appreciate you coming in here and generalizing all of them under the guise "I don't mean to be rude." That isn't some fix-all comment where everything following that is somehow "ok." You were rude, wrong and ignorant. Also you can say what you want about my skill.. that is purely your opinion. But my teaching ability and coaching has had nothing but high marks. And that is something you don't know about.. which is ironic since this is a coaching thread/subject you are commenting on.

It is VERY easy to improve on your own. The way to break out of the D ranks is by massing games and improving mechanics, it has nothing to do with advanced meta game or cheese/rush timings. The reason you got 30 sessions is because these people don't understand that all they need to do is get more apm and do EVERYTHING faster. They might get the illusion that you're helping them because you probably do tell them things that are true but for 10 dollars an hour i would say this is sooooo not worth it when there are free guides that do the exact same. Day9 does a FREE daily cast I don't know what you're referring to in that example. You don't appreciate me coming in here and generalizing? I never did this, all I did was say from my experience as a B- player how I would feel about this offer. They can throw away money all they want(IMO) I just wanted to give my 2 cents on this.

And saying "Do everything faster, work on mechanics and mass game" = improvement is ludicrous. Just yesterday I coached a guy with over 200 games on ICCUP, he is D rank and very deserving of that rank... what will you tell him? Stop wasting his money and play 600 more games? The bottom line is nobody has complained about my rate. In fact people have complemented how relatively cheap it is when other people are asking for more to do less. You are ill informed and illogical. There is very little intelligence in your argument.. "just do everything faster" rofl? That easy huh? And the Day[9] "example" was that he charged for lessons.. more and did less. Like I said.. the guy you keep using as an example does EXACTLY what I do only privately. His podcast is not similar as was pointed out earlier.

The price for this is HUGE compared to how easy it is to improve on your own especially for lower ranked players. I'd feel like a massive sucker if did this, just my 2 cents. HEY GUYS WHATS UP IN THIS THREAD I SEE THE TITLE AND SAY THAT ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY LOL! I DONT EVEN READ THE CUSTOMER REVIEWS OR ANYTHING Look you may be a B- player but you're also a giant douchebag. Geoff has helped me more in the 4 hours that I've worked with him than I've been able to help myself to become better in quite some time. My apm hasn't improved but my win loss ratio has. Why? Geoff as a coach can help me see things that playing hundreds of games won't help me see or learn. Currently I'm rolling through protoss opponents(at my level and slightly above) which was something I was extremely incapable of doing. I've read the guides hell I've even taught others before but he brought things into a new perspective for me. Also he is extremely helpful and will answer quick questions from me outside of the time I'm paying him to. This whole experience to me is akin to taking tennis lessons. Sure you know how to serve and you can get it in the box every time but do you know how to place your serve, do you know how to put different kinds of spin, You might even have an idea of how to do those to some degree but until you have a coach that has a greater knowledge than you there to show you exactly how you need to pronate your wrist or which stances cause the most power etc etc you just won't ever grasp it.

to assess his starcraft skill we look at his iccup page (A-) that doesn't mean anyone he teaches can be A- after his lesson. The way to assess his teaching skill is by the performence of his students I would like to see some evidence on how good his teaching skill is. Instead of having your clients posting their opinions on how you did, you should rely on facts to sell your teaching service. One example of such facts you could use: ask one of your clients to post their iccup rank before your lesson, and 2 weeks after your lesson, and see if there is a improvement. That would validate how great of a starcraft teacher Incontrol is.
