If i'm a D (Barely D+) Level Protoss suffering from pvz woes (and to a lesser extent pvt worries) do you think a 2 hour session will help much?

Hey Geoff,

Would you be willing to teach someone how to get over a fear of playing on ICCUP? That's something I struggle with a lot, it seems really intimidating and it's even worse knowing that there's a lot of smack talking on in the D levels, and it can be even more discouraging knowing there's a lot of cheese and all ins that go on.

SC is a really difficult game and there are so many different facets to it that it can be really intimidating. The intimidation is something I struggle with a lot so if you could try to help me get over that nervousness/fear to the point where I can enjoy playing online and not be so afraid of it, I would definitely consider taking lessons.

It's not something you have to do by any means, but I mean if I enjoyed playing online and started really wanting to improve then I sincerely would take lessons from you.

There's just this "This game is so hard, I suck, why bother trying" mentality that I have in my head that I would need to conquer first...

I KNOW I would help. I've helped worse.. we are talking 400 games D-/D rank. He is now C- (3 sessions).

I am not saying that means I can get you up there.. but I am promising you that it will help.

Let me prove it!

Yes I can certainly help with this. Despite the counseling I can help you improve on your game and win games (makes sc the most enjoyable)... let me know if that is something you want to pursue. I can guarantee you I will help you. Check the customer reviews in the OP if you want some evidence.

I trust your ability to help players improve, but ultimately even the best progamers in the world lose a lot of games and that's something that can't be avoided.

I am just curious if you would have advice on how to make Starcraft a game that I can enjoy even if playing on ICCUP with Korean maps.

I'm sure I would improve, but I would like to improve and also develop a passion for Starcraft. No point in improving if I get better but then never play again. I hope you can understand how I feel about these issues.

Are you saying you cant enjoy ICCup because you cant handle losing? Or is it because you are nervous / scared to even play?

One of the most important things to learn in this game (and anything I guess) is the ability to try your best despite knowing you may lose, and be able to accept that. It makes so many things more enjoyable haha.

I think it's more the latter. I won my first two games on ICCUP but then I just didn't feel like playing more after that.

Although I won both games I was playing REALLY bad. I was incredibly nervous, I was playing ridiculously slowly, and I had no build or game plan thought out. Both games I just kinda winged it and outmacroed the other person.

I think it's mostly nerves. I've lost to players before who were way better than me but I didn't care. I think part of the nervousness is just playing complete strangers online, it's so unknown and variable and that is really nervewracking for me .

I used to be really nervous when playing on iccup. I would sweat a lot and my heart rate would increase. This was not because of excitement but more nervousness. I never really knew the cause but I kept on playing and eventually it went away. I play now relaxed and don't care as much, although I can still get emotional because of losses. Just try and let go of you inhibitions of playing strangers and it should go away once you become familiar with playing against random people.

Yes I certainly have ideas for how we can make SCBW more enjoyable for you. Unfortunately I am running a seudo "business" here so I will have to wait to share my ideas for when we are in session. If you do not trust my abilities both as a gamer and as a thinker I wouldn't pay me. If you believe what I say, and think it will help, what are you waiting for?

That being said take a risk, spend the 20$ at the risk of wasting 20$ up against the risk of gaining an enjoyment for the game you spend so much time with.

I will definitely consider this. But I do want a little bit of time to think about it, I hope you understand.

I do like the idea a lot and I am thinking about it, but I do want some time to think about it.

I hope there is no rush

Edit: I hope I don't seem like I'm clogging or spamming your thread with my posts. I'm just expressing my own difficulties with Starcraft and my potential but hesitant interest in this teaching session .

I'm not really comfortable sharing that I have coached over 30 people through this though.

How much time do you think is needed for one matchup? Are those 2 hour session always mainly about just one matchup? Would it make sense to only play 1 hour for ZvT/1 hour for ZvP?
