to assess his starcraft skill we look at his iccup page (A-) that doesn't mean anyone he teaches can be A- after his lesson. The way to assess his teaching skill is by the performence of his students

I would like to see some evidence on how good his teaching skill is. Instead of having your clients posting their opinions on how you did, you should rely on facts to sell your teaching service.

One example of such facts you could use: ask one of your clients to post their iccup rank before your lesson, and 2 weeks after your lesson, and see if there is a improvement. That would validate how great of a starcraft teacher Incontrol is.

Last season I was about a 30% win rate vs toss and this season I'm at 50% and I hadn't had my lesson until about halfway through the games I've played for this season. This is a noticeable improvement in my eyes. I was having trouble sustaining a D+ rank last season also this season I'm pushing through D+ and I hope to be C- stable before the end.

You are ill informed and illogical. There is very little intelligence in your argument.. "just do everything faster" rofl? That easy huh?

And the Day[9] "example" was that he charged for lessons.. more and did less. Like I said.. the guy you keep using as an example does EXACTLY what I do only privately. His podcast is not similar as was pointed out earlier.

This guy is obviously not trying to do everything faster, he's going 4 pool each game and having fun. Anyone who is mentally capable can read a guide on how to improve, proceed to mass games and get to C/C+ in 3-4 months.

I'm not saying you're just not helping these people period. It's just that for that price it doesn't matter what you told these guys because all they need to do is just be faster. You can tell them where to place things to optimize but seriously, day9's stream gives a general idea of how to do this and it's free.

You might get good reviews and yeah you probably do a good job BUT NOT for that price. The only people who can benefit from this are C- players who just have no idea how to get past that level and are very serious about sc for whatever reason. They're at such a low level that any type of help is just OMFG amazing so it's hard to give negative reviews

If you guys think it's worth it, knock yourself out. I didn't recieve any lessons from inc and for all i know hes godly amazing and would change my life. Look at my ignorant opinion however you want

Wrong!

The very response you ignored in this most recent discussion is from a guy who just broke into C- and found my help very beneficial.

Look I am not going to entertain this any longer.. you seem to have a death grip on the notion that this cannot possibly be worth the price and then you start making assertions about who it could help, who those people are etc.. and frankly all these assertions are incredibly wrong (nevermind inaccurate, illogical bad etc..) If you are so damn thrifty that 10$ for an hour of coaching on an activity (the proverbial) "you" enjoy/take serious is REALLY expensive then of course this isn't for you. That as a stand alone opinion is fine.

But DON'T.. DON'T start making the stupid claim that it is easy to self-improve by reading the strategy guide, watching a vod or listening to a podcast. Sure those things help but to compare them to 1 or 2 hours of hands-on training by a person of "expert" level is incredibly silly. Additionally, it is worse to then claim that said training "would only benefit X" or "can be duplicated by just playing faster" holy crap dude.

I love it though.. your answer to self improvement is "play faster" and "mass game." Well holy crap dude. You solved bw.. about damn time.

umm how can you compare Day[9]'s podcasts to what Inc is doing? Does Day[9] sit down and play games with you and then analyze the replays with you over vent? It's two totally different things..

I'm not saying Day[9]'s podcasts aren't helpful, they are great, but it's dumb to say you can get the same thing from Day[9]'s podcasts as what inc is offering. Although I guess dumb comments can be expected from someone who thinks you just need to "do everything faster" and you will get to A/B rank..

iNc is doing a great thing here and it's really not that expensive. Sure some may feel it's a ripoff (yes you Audiohelper) and maybe it isn't for everyone but everyone is entitled to their own personal opinions. what Audiohelper is doing wrong here is horribly generalizing how people can improve and seems to sort of trying to rationalize his opinion of it being a ripoff. F that. Everyone I know who's taken at least one lesson with iNc has said only great things. Have yet to hear anything negative from someone who's ACTUALLY HAD a session with Geoff.

Moar ppl take lessons gogo. The invaluable aspect of this whole deal is the personalized aspect of it all. Getting to sit down for some quality one on one time with one of the best and most accomplished zerg players in the USA is quite an opportunity. you can watch all kinds of videos or listen to podcasts but having advice catered specifically to you on your own time in this kind of setting is great. Sitting down and going through replays of YOUR games with someone who knows their shit is definitely a faster road to improvement than going it alone and "mass gaming" on iccup while maybe or maybe not learning anything from it all.

Okay so you can go read a free guide and look at day9s cast for a broad picture of how you should play properly or you can pay incontrol 10$ an hour so he can point out that you miss placed your pylon. The way to get good at sc is by massing games and doing everything faster THIS IS A FACT, why are you trying to mock this INC? Oh lulz you solved sc audiohelper just play many games and you'll by nada lulz. yeah this IS how you get better but I guess someone like inc who plays sc with suboptimal build orders ie lurker drops or lurker openings would be the type of person to mock this. Really inc i am amazed that you defend this in such a manner, as if you're doing something that justifies the price. Maybe if you were really good and played proper sc(day9) as opposed to doing cheesy drops and ling rushes that will only give you fluky wins against players who actually know how to play optimally I would have some sympathy for this, but come on lets get real you do NOT play properly.

Noobs and low ranked players need mechanical help and that's all there is to it. Any type of advice will seem good to them because they are just that bad.

Who are you to say what's worth it and what's not? Everybody learns differently. Maybe SOME players can improve by themselves, but MOST people don't have the mentality and dedication to get really good by themselves. For a majority of the people, Geoff is offering a very valuable service (it's why he continues to do business).

Personally although I've never been "coached" by anyone aside from a few convo's with Day about theory, I've found that I improve a lot after attending LAN's and watching good players play - because I get a more hands on learning experience that I wouldn't otherwise get from reading a guide or watching replays. That sort of thing is akin to what Geoff can provide.

Maybe you can improve easily by yourself, but a lot of people can't.

So please, shut the face. <3 inc.

Ok I banned him.

I welcome criticism of my coaching, the concept of coaching, my price etc.. but when you start just randomly saying :"it won't help" or "playing faster and mass gaming = more improvement" I have to protect the integrity of this blog and remove the creator of such heinous logic.

I'm sorry dude but in ANYTHING competitive coaching, training and hands on practice has ALWAYS been the far more productive method of practice than simply sitting by yourself and grinding it out. My rate is cheap, and nobody has complained. I hardly consider what audio was doing "complaining" about my rate since really he'd contend that any price is too much, not specifically what I was charging.

The stuff about my level of BW / style etc.. that is fine and good dude. It has won me a national championship as well as several other victories offline (US Open) and online (TLT2 top 4). I am perfectly happy with how I play.. and I think a LOT of people would be really happy to have accomplished what I have.
