Before heading to Singapore, I remembered the day when Pachi came up to me (on MSN) and told me about Steve. It was long long ago. “FakeSteve is a girl, you know? Well, she is a girl names Steve which is always for boys. Thus, she has “fake” in front of her ID” – He said. Oh well, I had believed in that story for quite a long time.
Then, when I reached Singapore, I got Steve’s number via Teamliquid. We talked on MSN and I realized “she” was not a girl but a real guy. Damn, I got deceived. I trusted Pachi and …. I’m so innocent, I think
We arranged a date to meet up the other guys from Teamliquid.net. I was so excited. This is my first time travelling Singapore and I will meet the other StarCraft players from neighbor countries. What do you expect more?
One morning, I decided to call Steve while my listening is poor (and it’s even worse on phone). I dialed the number he gave to me on my first day in Singapore.
*tin tin*
(then I heard someone picked up the phone)
“Hello?” – there was a girl answering me. I was kinda surprised.
“Oh hi there. I’m June. And….I wonder if that is Steve’s number?” – I kindly asked her. I didn’t know if she was Steve’s girlfriend or anyone else so I should be nice
“Steve? hmmm” – she hanged on the phone for around 5 or 6 seconds than answered me
“Yes, Steve! And you are…? ”
“I’m his wife. And what do you want from him” – she started to talk at a very high tone.
“He gave me the number. I’m his friend from Vietnam..hmm…I don’t know where Razer Office is and want to ask him…do you know where?”
“Razer Office? Damn, you’d better ask him but ME!”
And she hanged up the phone, left me speechless in my cousin’s room. She was mad, I could realize that even we were talking on phone. I didn’t know if I had done something wrong. But one thing kept my mind occupied was that “will Steve be in trouble with his wife? Noone told me that he’s already married. Oh, then I’ve just made a very big mistake. God, I’m so stupid. I’m so so sorry, Steve”.
lol
I didn’t go anywhere but Bugis Junction that day (I love Bugis Junction where everything is cheaper than in ION Orchard or somewhere else). Steve told me that they would gather around at Razer Office and watch Proleague Final together. He asked if I wanted to come over. Of course I said yes quickly because the words “Razer Office” and “Proleague Final” (I almost forgot PL Final) made me feel interested. However, he didn’t call me at all which means I missed the Proleague Final. I missed Bisu’s games and hell of other stuffs at Busan Beach. I was stuck in Bugis because of Steve’s wife didn’t tell me how to get to Razer Office.
I came home quite late that night and started to log on MSN as one of my daily habits. I saw Steve online and said hi. I doubted he would not reply me after everything I did with his wife (at least I thought I made her angry). But no, he replied me immediately after my first message. Ok! It was not really immediate but it took just a minute for him to reply me. I told him everything happened within a day between me and “his wife”.
He laughed, there was no doubt about it. Sure, because he has got NO WIFE. He posted me his number for a second time and told me to check it in my call diary. God, I mistook the 2 last number 48 for 18. I wrote it down in my note when he first gave me. And maybe I was busy doing the other stuff so I made it carelessly. That’s the point.
Poor me, poor little Junnie.

Ok, so I think it’s more than enough to open my today’s blog. Here is our main thread.
Me and my Singaporean friend (his name is KC) headed up to Razer Office at 3.30 pm. We first took a bus to Orchard then got a cab to JTC Building – 512, 514 Chai Chee Lane. It’s quite far from my cousin’s home – Balestier Road so it took me around 30 minutes to get there by cab.
(Thanks a lot, KC! Without you, I will not know how to get there. Thank you so much, Doraemon)
The building is quite near to Changi Airport and as far as I know, it’s located at the beginning point of Singapore. I came all the long way to meet Steve, at Razer Office. The office is in industrial area and the building doesn’t have a fashionable look like the other blocks I’ve ever seen within my holidays. But I don’t care. I came down there not to buy some shiny clothes so it’s ok to me.
Here comes our hero…
When I finally arrived in my final destination, I gave Steve a ring and he came down from 7th floor to pick me up. My first impression about him was he looks like a rocker with long hair (longer than mine T___T). He is a white guy and looks friendly, lucky me! ^^
He took me to the Razer Office and showed me around. There is a display section, a ball room, an entertainment room and working area. It looks neat and clean and I feel like I’m an honor guest. It is much bigger than I expected and I like the entertainment room the best. They have all 3 console machines: The dream machine PS3, a role model Xbox360 and an innocent child Wii, not mentioned to 8 PC equipped with Razer Gaming Gear, Pool table, canteen section. It’s really good to see that Razer’s head leaders care much about their staff and their mood. They have an awesome room for their staff to relax after many hours of working hard. Razer rocks <3
While Steve still had lots of things to do, he sometimes came out of his position and checked if we were both ok. I really appreciate that effort. Thank you so much, dude! And I also saw Razer CEO who is just around 28 or 30. He looks handsome and friendly. He saw me and smiled. Hehe, I was totally embarrassed to say hi. *blush* (and now, I remember I did not ask him for any photo T___T I was so shy, I guess).
I didn’t know how long I waited for Steve because Rock Band game on PS3 owned me badly. Honestly, I suck at this game. I suppose, it lacks of practicing. I tried the game with Steve and hellah, he is a master of the guitar. He plays so well that I have nothing to say about his skill. I chose “Easy” or “Medium”, having fun with Drum (much easier than Guitar) and failed the song sometimes while he kept choosing “Expert” and being a survivor.
7.30 pm, we (Steve – KC – me) headed to Bukit Batok to have dinner with the other guys from TL.net. We took a cab and spent around 25 buds to get there. I’ve never been there before so everything looks both fresh and new. There were Konadora, Kenneth and Nicholas waiting for us. I believe there are more other guys from TL who are living in Singapore but for some reasons, they were not here with us.
Grao graoooooo
FakeSteve was having fun with his food
Konadora
After a short introduction to each other, we walked to a western restaurant. Nicholas helped me what to order. Actually, he wanted “Beef Hotdog” and said it to me. Then I was like “oh right, this must be good, right? Then I’ll take it”. You have to look at his face at that time. It was so funny to see his impression when I stole his “secret food”. “That’s mine” – he said and laughed. But sorry, it turned to be mine after that. He showed me “Fish and Chips” to get me change my order in vain (hehehe). Finally, he made his second decision for some fish.
A mysterious guy covered with his hand
And there he is. Behold, Nicholas
During the dinner, we talked about Proleague and progamers (of course) mainly and sometimes, switched it to WarCraft (maps and Grubby’s girlfriend who is Singaporean too names Cassandra in case you don’t know), Diablo III…etc…We were all having fun. Steve was pretty talkative and I think without him, the dinner would be in a low atmosphere. The others are friendly but did not talk too much. And I got nervous talking to them. In Vietnam, I don’t often speak English so it’s rather tough for me to catch up with them.
I called him "uncle" during the dinner. You know why? He's 10 years older than me :| (I'm 18). He looks much younger than his real age.
Steve - the rocker who lightened up the dinner atmosphere <3
The show went on and on until we decided to get home at 11 pm. Konadora, Nicholas walked to MRT Station with us. Before leaving, I taught Nicholas saying “Goodbye” in Vietnamese and he did it correct right in the first time. Nice <3
Me and TL.net guys <3 (a girl in white tshirt in case you dont know that I'm a girl...lol)
Wow. It looks like that my today’s blog is getting long as hell now. I think I’d better stop it here and see you guys next time.
See ya!
Love
Junnie
