I don't understand this at all either First JD fans say Flash will be easy pickings because his ZvT is terrible and not S-Class But now they say JD will drop a game because Flash is a threat so JD dropped on purpose seriously guys Huh, I have seen it way more from non JD fans like JWD.
This almost reminds me of JD vs Lomo. -_-
Anyway, Yarnc goes 12pool with hat in main. JD went 9pool but scouted wrong with ovie while Yarnc scouted right. JD's first few mutas get hit by scourge so he is forced to retreat. Then, it's just 2hat vs 1hat of muta/scourge production plus weakened mutas so JD can't really engage Yarnc or it is suicide. Yarnc also sends some lings to JD's main so if JD engages them then Yarnc's mutas pick off his drones.
I don't understand this "dropping game intentionally" either. JD was just in a really hard place all game that he couldn't come back from. (although he has made miracles many times in zvz before)

The entire game was practically an uphill fight for JD. He was behind from the very beginning when he sent his Overlord in the wrong direction while Yarnc scouted correctly, then his 9 pool failed to do any damage to Yarnc's 12 pool, then Yarnc got another Hatchery up in his main and his greater production of Mutalisk/Scourge overwhelmed JD.
It was a pure build order loss. If you really think JD would prefer dropping himself to tiebreakers and risk being eliminated to safely advancing 3-0, you should probably get your head checked along with JWD.

how is it a surprise that backho lost? no one is able to fuck up with more grandeur and consistancy than him.

I got 0/4 in liquibet last night, ouch

Jaedong's loss is easily explained in that it was complete and utter build order domination by Yarnc. He blind countered Jaedong's build pretty much perfectly, and while yarnc may not be the best ZvZ out there, he's probably top 5, and that's enough to beat even Jaedong with that massive of a build + scouting advantage.
Both of Bisu's losses this OSL have come against people innovating against him. Zero and go.go both payed him a high compliment in my opinion by coming up with and pulling out special shit in the group stages to knock him off. Ok, Zero's isn't that special - I'm sure we've all thought about using Queens to snipe HTs before - but it just hasn't been done in pro games to speak of.
BackHo is fail at PvZ yeah, and Leta's game against Kwanro was totally irrelevant (Kwanro was out and Leta was D1 regardless of the outcome) so he probably didn't both practicing much for it and is focusing on Hite's Proleague games.
Yes, I'd consider all 4 games upsets. None is horrendously surprising or an indication that the world is ending.

Yeah, guys saying he dropped it on purpose are just plain dumb. I mean, JD is never afraid to meet anyone, I mean he did pick effort for his group, and as you say, he is now in a tiebreaker, instead of just moving on and have less games (which would make sense since he is constantly talking about he's tired of having so many games to play).

type b was always a favorite and leta has always failed
can't explain the other two
2/4 lb ftw?

Jaedong has dropped games in the Ro16 before in really sloppy fashion (im talking about vs GGplay from the all zerg group in Batoo, it was a game that didn't matter). I think he threw the game tbh =/

Yeah haha, me too man. All the favorites lost.
I can't understand why Leta thought going for a bunker rush would be a good idea. So far people who have tried bunker rushes are like 0-5 or something ridiculous in the individual leagues. I'm guessing he thought Kwanro would have practiced for 2port wraith and would just use the same strat as Jaedong to smash him but he didn't take Kwanro's aggressiveness into account.
jaedong's loss was obvious as to why he threw it away and zero is way better than people think.
