so im doing a pullup workout on my hangboard and im in the process of doing a front lever. and suddenly the hangboard rips from the wall.
note to self, use longer screws
as im falling my immediate thought is "oh fuck". my arms were up so what slams into the ground first is just the upper middle part of my back. hurt quite a bit.
then a half second later the hangboard comes down. and it lands directly on my chin, before it hits anything else. it hit my chin so hard it broke it into 2 pieces.
i yell "help" a few times, cuz my sister is there and she is a doctor. i knew i prolly wasn't hurt TOO bad cuz i was able to yell anything lol. but i couldn't really move for the time being.
anyways she said an ambulance should come. they came and they checked me out, long story short I am ok and I chose not to go to the hospital, but I am not allowed to go to sleep for the next 12 hours.
I'd add pics but I don't have a camera. nothing real exciting to look at anywyas. jsut a broken hangboard and a swollen bloody chin.
ok here is a pic(not mine). this is what the hangboard looks like, in 1 piece that is:
mine is blue tho hehe

that does not sound like a great start to your day

HAHA, dude I thought that was your hangboard at first and it was just your dried blood all over it.
That's rough, I won't complain about getting woken up by a phone call at 6am, glad you're okay though.

It isn't. I think you misunderstand the situation.

Are you a ninja warrior yet?

Well, good thing is that you're okay. Bad thing is that your spider-sense isn't working.

haha can't be farther from the truth
actually I think low body weight and a good warmup is what saved me from serious injury

I have one of those door frame ones that you see on tv but it doesnt fit my door frame so I had to build a doorframe-like contraption to hang it from. I'm afraid mine will fall one day too

you will be fine as long as u don't get into a leaning back position if ur doing normal pullups it doesnt matter so much if it falls because u will fall down onto ur feet/legs rather than ur back/neck/head

damn hardcore
thats a sick hangboard
|
Whats up with that crown thing on the hang board. Looks so weird lol. Sucks that that happened though

It's to provide different challenging grips to develop finger/hand strength while doing pullups. It's something climbers would use a lot (think all of the different shaped, tiny handholds that come up when you're bouldering and such).

I dont understand that picture at all. What is it?
Reminds me of when i benched alot more then I could handle somehow dropped the whole thing in desperation it hit the floor jumping once then landing on my friends foot lol... He was limp for two weeks.
