open mic night
it's 4:40 AM right now. tonight at 9 PM, i will be getting ready to go on stage and play acoustic guitar and sing at open mic night like a total sensitive emo fag.
I shall equip my acoustic guitar. I shall ingest anywhere from 2-4 beers. Finally, I shall stretch and strain my vocal cords until they reach the unnaturally high pitch that you're hearing in this song.
i've never sang in front of anyone except my ex-gf once or twice while i was drunk. i'm scared of performing on stage in the first place, but to actually sing in front of a crowd.... . .. . . . . ... .. . . .
LOL wish me luck

I've seen people fall apart at open-mics a million times. It's the perfect environment for that, if it's going to happen! At least at the open mics I've been to, the people tend to be VERY supportive, and much of the audience is made up of the people who will be performing, so they understand your anxiety very well. Open mics are the place to evolve as a performer. Whatever happens this time, there are millions of other opportunities to perform and hone your stage performance.
My advice: don't rely on booze. The performers I know play sober, and say that it is best if you can harness the nervous energy for the performance. (I've never met a performer who says they don't get nervous before a show).
Best of luck to ya!

2-4 beers is enough to loosen my lips without compromising me enough that i will bomb. at least... i think! ps thanks for the great response inky =]

Chugging a Big Bucket of beer will typically ensure you no memory of whatever the fuck happened the night before.
... Good luck
